They're not the sort of band to do one offs because the stage production would cost a fortune & it's well known Glastonbury don't pay over the odds for headliners.

If it so happens that they're touring around the right time one year then they'll be booked, they were never likely for this year so there's no reason to 'give up hope'.

they have no plans to think about taking any bookings for any live shows until after the album is released.

When they do start to think about live shows, they'll first have to get a live band together, and learn and rehearse the new songs.

There's zero chance of any shows before the autumn at very earliest.

It's mad that I didn't appreciate how rare a Daft Punk headline set was when I saw them at Wireless.

I still look back with shame that I went to 2 days of the 3.

Daft Punk day and the Kaiser Chiefs day.

The headliners on the first night were The White Stripes and Queens of Stone Age. Absolute balls up in hindsight on my part and knew a few White Stripes and Queens Of Stone Age tracks, but had never got into them.

If people want to hear some Daft Punk, played live, check out Chic, in West Holts, on Friday night. Nile Rodgers has been involved in producing their album, and Chic sets play lots of songs that Nile has written / produced, so I'd expect at least one Daft Punk tune in their set.

Do we think that's actually likely? I mean I'm thinking I might go to Chic regardless, but that Friday is looking like a hell of a clash to me, with Arctics, Portishead, and Nas also vying for attention. Nile bringing some Daft Punk tuneage to proceedings would probably be incredibly awesome.

he may slip one Daft Punk tune into the works but i think even that's doubtful. Daft Punk won't have even played those songs yet so it'd be kind of weird is Nile started playing them

    • It's gone past can I afford it, and more is it worth it?   For over half the shows I go to, buy a ticket the week of the show and chance it that it is on tickets or a seat filler.
    • Yep - Richard Tandy was in the band.
    • There was 1 other member of the band present, keyboard player, if I recall correctly.
    • Really!   What are these imaginary criteria?
