My method (you can tell me if I'm wrong or not) is to choose bands that I think it's going to get more difficult to see as they progress in their career!

For example, the XX and mumfords (call me a square- someone will probably reply to this saying I am), but I like them both, and I am 100% picking mumfords. The xx are big, but they are still in the stage of their career where if you want to see them, you can plain and simple. After headlining glastonbury Mumford are going to be like Coldplay, massive tours which sell out really quick.

I can see the comparisons between Snoozeplay and Mumford, both are bland middle of the road who sell lots of tickets, i'm not a massive fan but its the XX all the way for me, they will put on a great show and wont be as bland as painting your room magnolia.

My nightmares

Elvis Costello v Sergio Mendes (Declan wins - easily - but peeved it looks like I'm gonna miss the 72-year-old Sergio)

Stones v Chase & Status v Public Enemy (Not really a Stones fan but can't not at least watch half of their set before hacking it to the Other field, will have to forgo PE!)

Everything else I can cope with!!

I'm gonna need a tardis. For someone not used to a festival of this ridiculous size, this is head breaking already. I'm not used to having to make decisions between flipping epic bands like this, no matter where I go I'm gonna wanna be somewhere else.

Another clever comment bashing coldplay and mumfords. It amazes me how people can say coldplay are boring and the xx are going to be so gripping. Have you seen the xx? They have all the personality of a beige carpet. But because it's fashionable to like them this week it gives everyone free reign to criticize legitimately popular acts.

Well done

Zzzzzzzzzzz........

I've only heard a little of The XX and, you are right, they are both dull and derivative, but I notice you don't bother to defend Coldplay and the Mumfords. Coldplay are boring to me, plodding and obvious, and for that reason I didn't watch them in '11. I won't be seeing M&S on Sunday night this year either as I've not heard anything by them that I find entertaining. I might try Phoenix, they look a bit fun.

Coldplay were fantastic in 2011 and I'm confident Mumfords will be this year. The XX are one of the worst live acts I've ever seen. Ok it was in 2009 and they were supporting Florence and the Machine but christ on a bike, they were awful!
