Does anyone else have a huge feeling of relief. We had months about them struggling to find headliners for Sunday and the whole Stones: will they, won't they thing which inevitably meant speculation that the line up wasn't working out and yet they've put together a very good (at worst) line up that really does cater for everyone, somewhere. Everyone I'm going with is excited about something, mostly different things which will lead to a lot of interesting sharing of tastes.

I don't know what to do on sunday, I have a feeling I might have to see mumfords just to piss off my friends.

Shame about the xx but they will be around, plus mumford are abit louder and prouder. Plus I think they will nail it.

Fanntastic line up for me. Loads of bands I want to see esp. Smashing Pumpkins. No headliner for me on Sunday yet but that makes it even better. A real excuse to go wander up the naughty corner whilst the headliners are on.

The moreee I listen to Bill Wymans Rhythm Kings the more I want to see them, but BUGGER, they clash with The Scream, which means Wymans probably going to make a special guest slot with The Stones and he'll probably meander down to the Pyramid stage for a couple of Stones tunes whilst I frantically run to the Pyramid for a good slot. BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER... THE SCREAM OR WYMAN. P.S I'M CELEBRATING.

EDIT: FUCK!! OOTY BOOTY IS A PURE DISCO TUNE! JEEEZZZ... I'M SO STUMPED.

I am warming to it, but I don't think it's that great. It's not that unexpected anywhere, it feels....a bit on the repetitive front in some places....if you be really objective about it :P and yeah maybe once they have less white boys with guitars (Jesus I am nearly an advocate of keeping alot of white boy guitar music in there :P) It will look better.

saying that...

The Diamonds in the rough on there are pretty damn good! and I've still got 4/5 bands I'd like to see! and since it hasn't worked to be much of a chronological order..the sunday could end up okish yet!

It's weird, there's loads I want to see and no major headliner clashes (yet).

...but it's like I was expecting more.

I think, like for a lot of people, it's the lack of real surprises for me. I was hoping for acts like yeasayer, grizzly bear to show up, maybe even Jack White. No doubt after I've listened to some of the unknown I'll find loads more I want to check out.

I think I'm already booked up for the weekend though.

Rolling Stones aside, ive pretty much seen all the others recently that i'd be wanting to see so I now don't mind having to go to a wedding in Poland via Berlin instead. A fairly good line up overall though.

Generally very happy, although...

It's been mentioned before on this thread, but there is a lack of older acts, from the 60s-90s. I still think we'll get another legend on Pyramid on Sunday, but there is a lack of older pop. It's not really my thing, but helps break up the weekend a bit.

    • I agree but anyone under Rodrigo would be a sub in reality, that day would sell out in under an hour whoever is subbing, in which case Wolf Alice would make a lot of sense   The more unrealistic part of the scenario at this point is Rodrigo headlining
    • All you can say is...     If he couldn't convince nations that really would've benefitted from the short-term hit of an up-front £50mil payment by this time next year, what hope did he have?   Guess we'll now just have to monitor and see if this could derail Infantino's plans to be re-elected FIFA President next year.
    • Spider-Man: Brand New Day   Highlight was a bloke reacting to the post-credit scene by going "Holy f**k it's Tobey Maguire!" despite the scene having no reference to him at all. Which made my close-to-full screening of the film laugh a lot.   Film was pretty good. It was interesting as much as an exploration of the ramifications of the end of No Way Home and being about isolationism and male loneliness, which I thought it actually did quite well. Though I do ponder if I liked it as much as the other 3 Tom Holland Spider-Man movies. Sadie Sink was good tbf, while I also liked Jon Bernthal as Punisher, enough that I might go watch his Disney+ shows.   Seem to have had a Marvel kick recently having also watched Thunderbolts and Shang-Chi, both of which I thought were pretty good.
    • Wolf Alice won't get headliner for Reading either, they will sub if they play, that is where their level has stopped I feel. Both TFG and Skyvip for the big shows this year was just a stretch too far. Every headliner this year is bigger than them too I'd say.   Agree with Capaldi I don't think Yungblud will be at Reading. I would guess Bludfest 3 or Download.
