I hope no one elsewhere in the UK fancies any D&B/Jungle over the last week of June

+1 for always missing QOTSA. First time Sunday night 2011. Chose The Streets as my friends were going, even though I’d have chosen QOTSA, was glad we did Streets. Second time last year, vs. EJ, I just couldn’t not see Reg.

Early ideas of set times/days are starting to come out, in addition to early clashfinders. What are you angst-inspiring clashes in 2024? As it stands, mine is Orbital/Streets/Ocean Colour Scene on Saturday. Coupled with the fact that my girlfriend is set on Coldplay, which at least two of them overlap.

Been using Halvin’s clashfinder since my first Glastonbury in 2004. blue: must see (thus far none this year) green: will see unless clash with blue or another green orange: like to see, will make an effort to, but if logistics and the above two make it impossible. So be it. red: artist I know/like and can fill any blanks in my schedule unshaded: little/no interest, probably unknown to me. These are my research artists if I still have gaps in my schedule If Halvin’s current effort is correct. The Orbital/Streets/OCS clash is three greens clashing and here we have a problem. So far only 4 greens all weekend.

The current system is fine, shouldn’t be changed, sells out each year. The current system doesn’t benefit people holding multiple registrations, a ballot would. Policing it would be impossible. There is always a way.

I wonder if FBS on Saturday night at the glade might be too small a stage? Was at the park last year and it was super busy, and the park is nowhere near as conveniently located. I guess the fact he’s up against Gossip, Disclosure and Peggy Gou might split the electronica crowd somewhat.

It actually doesn’t… Putting OCS up against SZA almost guarantees a crush at the acoustic of the 40+ crowd.

While I’m not concerned about the lineup and the impact on my having a great festival. I just got a Facebook reminder of me posting the poster drop 11 years ago for the 2013 festival. The difference in quality is astounding. Admittedly, I’m now looking at it through 2024 eyes, but the depth is truly amazing of the acts.

There is not one person who is returning their ticket purely in the strength of the first poster. Not one. Some may have another factor in play and the lineup is the clincher, but I’ll wager you can measure them in low double digits. Anyone who has been before won’t be. Anyone who has previously missed out won’t be. Anyone who is at least cognoscente of the fact that a ticket is far from guaranteed any year won’t be. I could be wrong* *I’m not

To echo what’s been said above: Faithless in whatever incarnation, at the glade, on Thursday, unopposed will be daft, beyond stupid, irresponsible. Have to imagine this means that there will be a number of similar sized acts at the same time around the site. Anything else in lunacy. But, if this is the case that Thursday is becoming more of a 4th day of music with options around the site in the evening, then I’m all for it! Keen to know which other faithless sized acts will be on the bill on Thursday evening!

Black Keys said last year that basically it really isn’t that big a deal for American artists. And it pays badly by comparison to any other festival. Point is, if TayTay is all about the money and feels she can get $30m for festival appearances, Glastonbury really isn’t in her agenda.

Look, everyone has their own experiences, so not disputing your comments. But it was gridlocked for a good 5 minutes at the back of the field. The problem being that while there is a good number of exits, the location of WH means that you don’t want to take the wrong exit to your next act, as correcting that mistake will be a long walk. Some people on the left wanted to go right and vice versa, plus with good weather comes people sat on the floor, so it can funnel crowds. Coupled with a lot of curious late(r) arrivals and it was pretty dense round the edges. Anyway, just my observation.

No wow moment, but been to enough to know it’ll still be great and there will be no regretting the entry price. Last year, I saw 9 acts from the original poster drop and properly saw ~40 performances over the weekend. I can see at least 9 acts from that poster (clashes notwithstanding) that I’d happily go and see, so it’ll be grand. Gutted there’s no Underworld

I got bothered by Zoe Ball one year

Pretty much bang-on summary right there. This was my third time at WV & it has got progressively worse. Although to qualify that statement, it’s not at all bad and would do again.

I’m a complete football shirt convert and wore one every day at the festival (barring Sunday which I regretted). Ideal for the weather, especially if you’re prone to perspiring. Great conversation starter. And few places you can wear a football shirt in your forties and not look a complete whopper.
