they're not that similar but if you like the feel good hip-hop vibe of J5 I suspect you'll like The Roots. More instrument orientated with a jazz & soul influence but a great blend none the less

I stupidly missed them at Bestival last year and i'm beginning to think i'll regret that for a long time

In all seriousness I'm glad they still sound so enthusiastic on the latest track. It sounds like it could've been released at any point of there career and not sound too out of place, also the live footage shows them as the fun playful group they are sound like on record.

I just came in from work, stumbled across the video and posted it. I didn't have time to look through the rest of the thread. Please don't be so condescending and demand that I keep up with some sort of made up standard of the discussion board.

I remember having to scarper from the end of Snoop to catch 2na with Breakestra in 2009 (or was it 10?).

I know I'm in the minority but Elbow and J5 is a killer clash for me. Never seen J5 before but Elbow are one of my favourites and I've not heard any of the new album live yet.

I'm hoping Deltron 3030 and De La Soul don't clash either. Deltron all the way if I've got to choose that one.

Ended up leaving leaving early to go meet people before getting a place for arcade fire but they were pretty awesome! Definitely the best hip-hop group I've seen live.

An interesting contrast to Deltron 3030 earlier in the day. I enjoyed J5, but felt it a bit overlong and they peaked a little early. Some of the gimmickry was fun and they drew a huge crowd, but that wasn't the best hip hop on that stage that afternoon.

The setlist wasnt the best and the best songs in their set (imo Improvise and Concrete Schoolyard) were on early leaving the end to be a bit flat. I really enjoyed the bit with Cut Chemist and Nu-Mark in the middle. Cant believe they didnt play Whats Golden

Agree about Deltron though, thought he was great.

What's Golden was the final track of the set!

Personally thought the setlist was perfect. Their best songs were well spread out through the set. Quality Control, What's Golden, Way We Do It, Concrete Schoolyard, Improvise, the Cut-Chemist/Mu Mark bit, Jayou, In The House all made an appearance.

Incredible atmosphere down the front made it one of my highlights of all the Glastonbury's I've been to!
