So Tony - they opened for you?

Regarding him being odd, he was a total speed freak wasn't he? Goes with the territory. Erratic behaviour.

Can I suggest somebody posts the version of Roxette from Whistle Test to back up the Cell Block 9 one?

That clip of roxette is great, but I think this one is even better, full on Wilko starey-eyed madness (especially in the second song) and Lee's grubby white suit. Just beautiful

This is terrible, terrible news, particularly when you think that Lee Brilleaux also died of cancer, as did his wife Irene. As a South East Essex boy I spent many a happy hour being knocked about in the mosh pit at Crocs in Rayleigh or the Crown in Southend, unaware that our local boys were destined to kick start the punk revolution. Having bored the arse off anyone that would listen over the last thirty years - that they were the greatest band that ever walked on the planet, it has been good to see them latterly getting the recognition they deserve. Nice that Wilko got to see at bit of that, I suppose. To anyone who hasn't seen in, can I recommend "Oil City Confidential" which is largely narrated by Wilko. A great film about a great band.

A few places are saying that these 4 farewell gigs are with Dr Feelgood. Does anyone know that for sure? Sounds a bit unlikely, unless John B Sparks & The Big Figure are going to appear as guests - can't imagine he would "re-form" with the current line-up, as none of them were in the band with him.

His own website doesn't mention it, so has somebody got the wrong end of the stick?

If you've not heard it you might want to catch an interview with Wilko on Radio 4's Front Row yesterday. Amazing hearing a man talk about how alive he's felt since his diagnosis.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
