For some unknown reason (but probably because I was about 15 when he last released anything) I haven't got into Bowie, but on hearing the new stuff I want to.

Where's best to start? Tempted to just get the best of and go from there unless people think otherwise....

Thanks in advance!

The new album really is remarkable, especially when you consider this man is 66 years old. I mean Look at acts like the Stones & the Who, in their old age they desperately attempt to cling at their youth and what ever it was that made them great in the first place. Where as Bowie, on this album embraces his age & the issues he has with it which allows him to reminisce over his great career & still produce an album that sounds both fresh & classic Bowie at the same time. Just brilliant.

I think the order of listening (not order of quality note) should be: Ziggy Stardust, Hunky Dory, Lets Dance, Aladdin Sane, Station To Station, "Heroes", Diamond Dogs, Low, Space Oddity, Scary Monsters, Young Americans. If you're still there after all that move on to the weirder late 80s/ 90s stuff :)

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
