These things I've read don't even make me feel a gut reaction of hatred or sickness, they're so far removed from any identifiable part of reality for me that I all I feel instinctively is confusion. Obviously I can consciously recognise that he's done the most heinous things a person can do, it's so far out of any frame of reference that it doesn't even really register, I might as well be reading fiction in a language I've never encountered, I just can't take it in as something that happened. Every new detail that emerges is even more unimaginably over-the-top grotesque than the last, the assembled hoards of Reddit couldn't have made this up. As its such a high profile case with large public interest, I'd be surprised if they didn't go for the maximum sentence.There's very little difference in the eyes of the law between rape and attempted rape and the punishment reflects this. It's why the prosecution settled for what he pleaded guilty too.

The way its been reported, it seems like the prosecution could have put forward a strong case for actual rape with video evidence which they decided not to show to spare the jurors as their would be very little difference in his sentence.

As for an actual exact time, its hard to say with so many seperate convictions, I'd be floored if it was less than 15 years though.

Personally as a parent, I find what they did even more appalling. They were in a position of trust and responsible for a human life and that's how they chose to act. My son is only a month younger than one of the victims and I just can't understand/comprehend how even thinking of those things even happens. Part of all their punishments should be to be neutered imo.

I personally agree that the mothers are as bad, if not worse than Watkins. It takes a sicko to even think about raping someone, yet alone a minor, but it takes a worse kind of sicko, for allowing a paedophile take advantage of your child, and giving permission for it to happen!
