When and where did you see them, when ive seen them they were brilliant, there actually one of the best live bands in Britain and possibly the world.

Alex Turner said in an interview last year 'I'd really like another shot at headlining Glastonbury. I don't think we got that quite right when we did it.' (coming from 'Cocky Arrogant' Mr Turner right)

So any doubts of them looking bored or not 'rising to the occasion' should be took away, if your going to Glasto and don't see there set, i think you will be missing out.

Don't understand all the hate, watch them and if you dont enjoy yourself then that's cool, but don't slag them off before you have heard the new album or seen them in 2013, they will change again, they change with every release of new album, i think it could be there best album next year with this new 'Heavier' sound

Arctic Monkeys in my opinion are an excellent studio band and have produced some good songs on all four albums, but sometimes I'm not sure they can make a lot of it work live.

For example, Humbug (for me) is a brilliant album, and in some ways is better than the first two albums. The issue is that those songs are very difficult to reproduce live when the audience may not know them as much as stuff from the first one; also Humbug is hardly a dance and sing-a-long album. I'd be interested to see if they have improved live, because in earlier 'big' performances, I think they relied on the audience a lot - hence why Reading '09 didn't really work.

Perhaps you had to be there but if I'm honest that video does nothing for me. I used to adore the Arctics back when I was 15/16 and they released the EP/Album/EP in pretty short timing, ever since then I've just grown out of love with them. Would depend who is up against them as to if I'd go watch.

They're my favourite band, seen them lots of times (double figures), their gigs are always my favourite, but if I was thinking rationally, they aren't the best live act in the world.

They are to me, because I adore them so much, but they aren't. Make sense? Probably not.

they just seem like an incredibly easy booking to me. i know it's hard to get three stellar, please everybody, never been done before headliners, and most years at Glastonbury have that 'standard' headliner, but the Arctics seem it even more so because they never seem to go away. their last album came out a year and a half ago but it seems like only yesterday. maybe it's because they're British and so are always touring over here, but they seem like such a 'shall we just draft in the Arctics, then?' type headliner. i don't think i could ever be overly excited about them playing because they're never away long enough to get me excited

i think some of you have misinterpreted what i meant by live act, i meant how they sound musically; the drummer really bangs the drums, and they all sound in sync very well, i never meant there crowd involvement and other live experiences etc. But i think they have improved with that since the last album to be fair

Lets just say there a professional young band, ive seen some live performances on YouTube where they look bored but its Glastonbury for Christ sake of course there gonna give it 100%

who wouldn't?

And the Dad joke i giggled at :P

considering Alex's interview saying he'd like to headline Glasto again because he doesn't think they did their best in '07, it's given me a bit of hope for them. if they were going to put on a good show anywhere, it'd be Glastonbury. i suppose i'll just have to see what mood i'm in on the night and it'll come down to that

After seeing them twice before I am conflicted about wanting to see them again. The second time I saw them (humbug tour, in Glasgow) was among the worst gigs I have ever been to but the first time, a few years before, was amazing.

I reckon the only way I would watch them at Glastonbury would be if I could pick their setlist. Which isn't going to happen.

to be honest i hope that there is either nobody at all on that i want to see at the same time as Arctics, or somebody absolutely incredible / unmissable, to make my decision easier. i'm hoping they do a few dates leading upto Glasto so that i can get a general idea of their setlist / live situation at the time
