Arctic Monkeys

The more festivals they get announced for, the more certain I am that they are playing.

They should be moved to TBC in my opinion, they can't play any other festival other than Reading and that looks pretty unlikely.

Reading has probably forked out all their money for eminem and the two other headliners won't be up to the same status or standard.

Roll on arctics!

i thought their performance was very poor. they seemed like they just couldn't be arsed. i'm not sure if that was because they actually couldn't be arsed or if they were trying to have some cool-guy persona about them, but it was just terrible. so drab

Fantastic band. been my favourite band since WPSIATWIN. Got diverse albums, got the catalogue of songs, got the hype, and with a new album for July(ish) release it will be a great booking. Anyone who's not convinced by them should watch videos on YouTube of them live at lollapolooza in Brazil and coachella. Alex is a hell of a lot more confident.

Indeed. Those of you who like looking at pointless shit, she posts a fair few photos of them together - this being a favourite (if you're a fan of Breaking Bad, this is superb) - https://twitter.com/i/#!/shmarielle/media/slideshow?url=http%3A%2F%2Flockerz.com%2Fs%2F257991391

Anyway, back to the music - agree with who said he's a lot more confident on stage these days. Probably down to whatever he's shoving up his nose before he goes on stage but let's hope not. Will be a solid booking (and perfect for me personally) if they get the gig.

Who do we think will sub the monkeys then? Black Keys maybe? Noel?
the norm is that it's a completely different type of act to the headliner who plays before the headliner, tho that's not fixed in stone.

Remember, Glastonbury is not a festival where every stage is overflowing with indie-

landfill; there's plenty of other festivals for that.

It's a surprise for some I know, but other more interesting genres of music are also available. :)

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
