It was really noticeable on one of the older songs where he had a bit of a higher pitched, nasal style, I knew then that it wasn't just the hype man.

He wasn't "miming" though, he was legitimately rapping over the backing track. Fine by me. As said, Stan was all him.

Were any of you lot actually there at Leeds. It was clear he was rapping over a backing track. He would pull the mic away from his face and his voice was still clearly audible. There were times when both he and Mr porter didn't have their mics in front of them and there was still ems voice playing!

Like someone said earlier it was mostly earlier on in the set, most notably criminal where it sounded pitch perfect straight from the record.

I have no doubt he was rapping over a backing track, I just found it a bit shit that he had to. I'd much prefer a couple more music on stage to keep the word that he can't make flowing, at least that way it's live and nobody can have a chance to accuse miming.

The three or four songs he did completely on his own were great. The rest was very meh. Shame really coulda been so much better.

Coming from a sound engineer, there was a blatant difference between his backing track and his own rapping. Yes he may have been rapping and not miming but the backing track was definitely louder than his vocals, there was a whole different dynamic range and tone to his voice when he was rapping alone (only when he wanted to incorporate Reading and Leeds into his rap). The guy is 40, his voice isnt like it used to be. From my point of view, he had his "Hype Man", Mr Porter/Kon Artis on stage with him rapping along to some tracks to add illusion of Eminem solely rapping without a backing track. Throughout the entire set, Mr Porter had no backing track and acted such like a compare (probably wrong spelling).

Nope this is after matthew kills marshal

"So before you rest your case
Better make sure you’re packing a wallop
So one last time, I’m back
Before it fades into black and it’s all over
Behold the final chapter in the saga
Trying to recapture that lightning trapped in a bottle
Twice the magic that started it all
Tragic portrait of an artist tortured
Trapped in his own drawings
Tap into thoughts
Blacker and darker than anything imaginable
Here goes a wild stab in the dark
As we pick up the last Mathers left off"

    • Yep - Richard Tandy was in the band.
    • There was 1 other member of the band present, keyboard player, if I recall correctly.

    • Aye I'd agree with that. I very much do find myself being more prepared to pick and choose now. I'm also prepared to wait for any "on the day" discounts from people who can't go.
