Rumours this time 2 years ago

I was wondering what the rumours were at about this time before the last festival, so did some digging and came up with the list below from the Internet Archive Wayback Machine.

This what we knew (or thought we knew) on the 9th November 2010. Putting here because i thought a few of you may be interested.

Surprising there is so little leaked.

Eavis - I think I am right in saying - has said for several years now at the end of each festival he already knew the headliners for the next one, so how come we know less at this stage than most years? Also I'm sure they announced a few bands very soon after ticket day in 2010, or 2009?

Is he still hoping to get the Stones, hence the delay?

I like the excitement building....but wouldn't mind hearing at least a few names!

eavis always says it, but things he later says proves himself wrong.

I'm pretty sure they don't have all three headliners booked just yet, the stones will keep them hanging for at least a month (and perhaps 2) from now I reckon.

And I think that Emily's tweet about the Roses was the result of Glasto being told it wasn't going to happen at about the same time - which suggests they're not as far down the line with their bookings as you might be thinking.

if you had to put money on a headliner who would it be Neil ?

i'd guess gaga.

Interesting that coldplay and beyonce are both down as pyramid on Saturday. Was this the year of the rumoured double headliners (with the stones penciled in for Sunday)?

nope. beyonce was booked as support for coldplay. Michael believed that he'd got Prince for the Sunday.

From what I can work out (not just related to Glastonbury), there appears to be one or more people saying that they represent Prince when they don't.

The thing is though, right, when you know, all the fun of speculating and guessing goes, so even if he does know, I'm glad he's not saying. I've never been to a fest where lineups weren't announced ages in advance and I'm really really enjoying not knowing. When we do find out, I'll be bouncing around the living room.
