Think about it - if you had been told off by a member of staff or one of your friends had been evicted by security, then later in the day you find someone who works at the festival camping next to you, how might you treat them?

The only problem with crew camping for me is my friend who is going with me isn't a volunteer. So we'd both be camping separately, which is a bit rubbish. This why I really want to know now if I can forfeit my deposit and just not do it.

Losing £230 just cause you can't camp next to a mate doesn't really seem worth it

True, I also kinda don't want to do my shifts anymore, I got placed with really bad ones that mean I won't be able to have much fun :/

Not wanting to sound like an arse, but you aren't really there to have fun, you're there to do a job.

Nah they're there because they wanna go to the festival, but don't wanna pay for it and would rather work a few shifts. The festival knows this is the case; they're there more to have fun than the do the job. If I got given shifts which clashed with the bands that made me wanna go in the first place, I'd be a bit annoyed.

Not sure if I've put this across well at all. It's a cheap way of FR getting staff. They should hire people if they want the quality of work of paid staff.

You can swich your shifts with others...

If i was you i would camp with your mate and do your shifts (i know people who did this last year) at the WORST they will kick off... Almost cirtainly wont and you will have a good festival

why blacklist yourself when you might be able to get away with it?

firstly how would they ever know as long as you turned up to your shifts?? about somthing minor which when you explain that only two of you they wouldnt get angry im sure

The very worst they could do to you is blacklist you (which they wouldnt for camping somewhere else) which is the same thing which happends if you didnt turn up at all

so i say turn up for your just camp with your marra

What songs did they play? Can't find the setlist so is it a regular one or did they play a slightly different one (doubt it though)

They won't blacklist you for not camping in the crew section. Just turn up to the staff campsite, get your wristband, then go and camp with your mate. I was on shift last year with a couple of people who'd done that.
