Well thats boring :(

Do Leeds ever do "secret" sets or is it just a Reading thing??

Leeds had Kaiser Chiefs play a secret set one year, and Gallows and Them Crooked Vultures played both sites when they both did it.

Reading gets Green Day every year, Leeds just gets a truck full of Oxo cubes.

The factory that makes all of England's Oxo cubes is in my home town, makes me feel proud :P

Of course it is, doesn't take a genius to predict that.

I know theyll propabably pull the biggest crowd of the weekend by some margin, but i just cant understand why..

They've played every single festival possible over the past 2 years, and theyre show hasnt changed.. its boring at this stage and they dont even seem.to care or enjoy it anymore..

The setlist aswell.. it's not exactly anything special.. seen them twice on this circuit.. second time almost put me to sleep

Bands of Skulls have reiterated that there's no clash with AM and there's a 15 min changeover. Is there anyone dancey likely to close? There's too many bands on that day for it to finish early surely.

That's pretty good. Are We Are Scientists subbing that stage? Either way, WAS/CHVRCHES > Band of Skulls > AM would be a decent finish to the festival.

Why are Eastenders and Coronation Street continually amongst the most-watched programmes every week? Why do so many people go to watch the Transformers films?

Strange, there is one fewer band on the FR that day but that won't lose enough time to finish somewhere around quarter/half past nine, and there's no obvious act to jump up and play after them.

You are aware how popular the Arctic Monkeys are right?

Isn't T the only UK festival they've played since AM came out? They've done a lot of their own shows but theres gonna be a huge number of casual fans.

I love when people do the "They've played finsbury and T, and did a tour last year so most that have wanted to see them have seen them" argument. Because that is never the case, and so inaccurate.

Alot of the reading audience this year will probably be seeing them for the first time, since AM material, or not since reading 2009. There will be fans who have seen them recently but this won't be a massive portion of the crowd.

I think Paramore best and Arctic Monkeys worst.

For QOTSA, if people have seen them before at a gig it probably won't be as good and they're pretty gimmick-free so it might not impress people just going along to check them out. Paramore will have all the confetti cannons and stuff.

Yes?.. Though I made, that clear? I've seen them twice, with Leeds probably being my third..

Weren't they the first day to sell out at Reading? That made,me think a large amount of people who went to the Finsbury show are going specifically for them..

That makes all the difference

It worked for Coldplay at Glastonbury, and remember that's the sort of crowd that wouldn't put up with Dave Grohl's cheap attempts at getting people going.

So you do understand why they'll pull the biggest crowd then

And why would people go to Finsbury just go for Arctics? All the people I know who went to Finsbury are excited for at least one other headliner and even got tickets before they were announced. It just seems foolish to suggest someone will pay £200 for a weekend or £100 for a day just to see one band. There had to be other bands that they must enjoy for them to spend that amount

    • Considering how popular of a booking Scooter have been I think they'd go down well
    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
