Was just talking to my cousin's friend (year 11) on his Facebook status about how good Nine Inch Nails will be at Leeds, and his friend bursts in with "It's all about the Sunday, johnny marr, Palma violets, jake bugg" and then "That sounds like a perfect day, Palma violets are gonna be the best band all weekend". Wow, people actually think these things?

for me

ticket £210ish

£150-170ish food/booze

camping gear and clothes have had a few years so they don't count - or minimal costs.

oh and maybe a lanyard as well - don't ever bother buying merch as can get it cheaper from the band stores

my breakdown is:

Ticket - £210 abouts

Food and Drink including what I buy to take with me and what I buy there - £140

T-Shirt, usually make a point in getting lineup t-shirts - £20

Caming gear - I have it all and generally always bring my tent back unless it's got to it's last year or it's just done it from mud etc

Travel - £15 abouts

So round it up to £400.

I reckon over the 12 hours in the arena per day I'd buy at least 8 pints more likely 10 , that's £120 for the three music days the probably £25-30 on 2 crates for Wednesday & Thursday then maybe a bottle of rum if I'm sick of larger. I'm 28 btw.

I see the days I the arena just like a night in town.

i know the black/grey from argos is decent enough, the wind was shit and rain at download 11 and my m8s was fine, it is only single skinned though, if you really want a proper decent one and willing to pay a bit more, grab yourself a vango dart ds 200 - £50 ish but I've heard very good things about them. I use self assembly myself but gutted I missed out on a deal for the ds 300 the other year.

How the hell do people only spend £30/40 on beer and food! Do you have one can a day and live off skittles!

Got to be £40 for booze, two crates and a bottle of spirits. Then for food probably £15 for campsite snacks over the 5 days. Then probably £8 a day for food from stalls, plus breakfast if i'm really hungover one morning.

So probably £80-100 for the weekend

Last year I took 36 cans -£25

Bottle of vodka- £20

Bottle of jd - £20

£4 a pint in the arena must have at least 6 every day £24, so for three days of music about £75 . That's £140 and I wouldn't say that's excessive. How can people only spend £30-40 on booze?
