I think a lot of the crowd expected only El Camino and Brothers, so when they played songs from Thickfreakness and Attack and Release they didn't know what to do, which is always going to dent the enthusiasm of a band when the crowd aren't responding. My friends didn't know any of their older songs either and I was a bit ashamed of them

I seem to remember it mainly being El Camino and Brothers... and I seem to remember the only songs getting any reaction at all being Gold on the Ceiling and Lonely Boy

They played a couple of Attack and Release songs but I remember nothing from Thickfreakness. I was waiting for Thickfreakness to come on for the whole time, it's absence was the most disappointing thing about the set for me

Plus a lot of the crowd was Foo Fighters fanboys who dislike every other band out of principle.

But yeah, I was gutted I didn't see The Horrors too. I'm sure they'll tour their new album in September though.

Chelsea Light Moving are doing some shows over here in June, I would love for them to appear on the Festival Republic Stage. Thurston Moore's new band.

Chelsea Light Moving, Exclamation Pony, Japandroids & BRMC on the FR would be very good additions.

Japandroids would be amazing to have on the FR stage - or very early on the R1 stage. They've never been less than great every time I've seen them and just seem to be having so much fun on stage.

So far I've watched Grinderman and some of The Stone Roses. Grinderman were great, The Stone Roses not too impressive. Caught a glimpse of How To Destroy Angels' stage setup whilst looking for The Stone Roses. Looked pretty fine, can't wait to see Nine Inch Nails' at Leeds.. Got a massive list of sets I want to watch over the weekend. So much for doing college work.
