My dear man, when Biffy sodding Clyro are headlining this festival, I think Rage Against the Machine are quite comfortably a headline band, SOAD were never as big as Rage.

But the interesting thing to note is that people thought that if Biffy could headline it then Mumford may sub? It's one of the most ridiculous suggestions I've heard in a long time.

Because my liking for RATM goes as far and no further than Killing in the name and it's not even close to a song that I'll watch a whole show to see it.

Bit like others we may get but two confirmed. Deftones and BMTH just are not me.

To be fair I think a lot of people underestimated mumfords ridiculous popularity. I Remember hearing little lion man and thinking, oh, this is an alright song no more then I think that of bastilles bad blood today. Then when I started hearing the cave, and I will wait, I thought ok, they have their sound, but it's kinda samey. I don't know why millions of people want to see them for that - I suspect a lot of it is because they are "in" ATM.

Biffy on the other hand have been slogging away for ages making incredible songs that are different and kooky. Then they started to make even more incredible songs that were more mainstream. Most rock fans would have heard of biffy for a while. Mumford happened what felt like overnight. And remember, there would have been a time people would have said "foo fighters, headline!? But they are copycat nirvana!"

I think a lot of people over estimate it. The idea of Mumford headlining wasn't even whispered here till Neil suggested they were big enough but shhh a lot of members won't let you say that

Fair enough, I'm a pretty big Rage fan, haven't managed to see them live yet so that'd be great for me if they were here though it looks very unlikely. Agree with you on Deftones and BMTH not my thing, pretty excited about SOAD however!
