Deftones got a really small crowd at Leeds last time they played, it was even empty in front of the barrier. I am surprised they are playing the festival again as they did seem really annoyed when playing about the crowd and reaction.

Makes me wonder why they bothered having an announcement this early, very underwhelming announcement and can't see there being heaps of tickets sold off the back of it.

Alt J headlining the tent off the back of winning the Mercury is odd, Deftones are playing for the 3rd time in 5 years and are a predictable booking, plus the announcement of a 1 Xtra Stage.

Hopefully these new tents mean we'll get three days of Lock Up stage, but won't hold my breath.

I honestly think they would have been better not announcing anything until next March than the bands they have announced today, the general reaction is going to be poor and negative. It seems like the most pointless announcement I have seen from a major music festival. I could have understood it if they had announced one headliner plus the rest of today's announcement?

The announcement shows how much they are trying to change the demographic of the festival

Making the first announcement all about the new dance and 1xtra tent is basically trying to get the dance kids and chavs interesting in buying tickets, I wouldnt be suprised now if the 3 headliners were "nobodies" compared to previous headliners as its obvious they are trying to sell it as a festival for the 18 year olds to come and get wasted through the day.

Its basically turning into R1 big weekend

There are differences between the announcements on the reading and Leeds sites. Leeds says that there will be late night event in the surrounding wooded areas.

I wonder if Leeds will put the dance stage where the relentless tent is and just run the acts on stage later and through till 03:00.
