russycarps
I thought Bowie in 2000 was probably the most boring thing I have ever watched live.
Craigston
Foo Fighters be great I think, the one thing Glastonbury lacks is great rock music!
mrtourette
Even if he did see QOTSA it's still a fair comment to say that Glastonbury lacks great rock music.
Mardy
Man, I know I'm pissing in the wind, but having watched Prince just f**king own the Hop Farm on Sunday, I can still dream of him on the Pyramid. He was absolutely f**king masterful, playful, magnificent and absolutely had every single one of the crowd by the jaffas for the duration of the show. Probably the best gig I've ever seen. Mardy
I saw that set list and read the reviews. I darn near slit my wrists on the spot. I was convinced he would treat that gig with no respect. How wrong can you be. I am going to regret passing on that gig for many years. I hear purple rain was especially epic
The Nal
I may have to have a look at Princes Dublin gig. 110 quid though! Thats enough cash to keep Mardy on the whiskey for half a night out!!

Wooderson
Prince in Dublin is fiendishly expensive - regardless of how tempted I am by the news that Mardy is mulling over a visit. Edited July 5, 2011 by Wooderson

ThomThomDrum
as much as I love Tom Waits, I don't think he'd suit Glastonbury very much. How many average Glasto punters could name more than one (even one!!) of his songs or am I being snobbish...?
Banana Co
Bob Dylan could headline and bring Tom Waits on!
The Nal
hehe, I'm toying with coming over for that, as it goes. Going to look at flights etc tomorrow Edited July 5, 2011 by The Nal

jimmy93
I too saw Prince on Sunday, and was absolutely blown away. He's so anti-publicity though - whilst it would go down fantastically on the Pyramid, I can't see it ever happening.
Al2006
Good man. Let me know. I'm buying (the booze, not your ticket!). Not sure what I've ended up quoting but.. Have you heard the new wilco stuff from solid sound? It's alright hopefully better than self titled.. Also the nal- I saw a while ago you wrote that u missed John grant, me and my friends were planning on going and seeing the eels on the Sunday but got drunk Saturday night and made a kind of pact to see John grant (we've already seen him twice but think he's awesome), and he was awesome, just sat down at the park and could see him perfectly and it was a great set- but the perfect solution to missing his set? John grant and midlake performing queen of Denmark royal festival hall September one of my favourite albums and possibly my favourite venue (saw wilco there last year-was perfect) tickets are cheap too! Nope, you're right, but thats if it was on the Pyramid Stage. Id have him headlinging the West Holts. It would be absolutely rammed. Probably never gonna happen though. Yeah the next one is going to be the biggie I hear!

Leedspete
Foo Fighters Arcade Fire Prince In no particular order as far as Fri/Sat/Sun is concerned. Would these 3 cover all the bases for everyone? Top commercial rock band, reasonably safe booking / Slightly eclectic indie band, niche but good festival goer booking / Top banana superstar, though not necessarily to everyone's taste Thoughts?? Al2006
Perfect, but I have to have at least one night off the pyramid at least so I think that would have to be the foos (seen them before) and would hope they would be on sat/sun.
