2013 Headliners

everything points glasto and althou its not confirmation defo. It was said the other day that one of the Mumford's has told close friends they'll headline Sunday night.

There is rarely a year glasto don't share a band with T. The exclusive thing also makes it note likely, added to that the stones will defo only play Saturday if they do and that when suggested Mumford may get a bump up if say the stones said no, it'd was said my efests as wrong.

A guess would be Neil has more info on Mumford than he's letting on, he knew something show wise was happening with them festival wise and that it'd be in the agreement not to up it to sr or tbc or to tell us even while they have tickets not even on sale for own shows.

Plus he was pretty sure that lady gaga being booked wasn't right. The rumor on the lineup far as I'm aware is due to her fansite saying she is, that could easily be a fill in for the stones, plus lets not forget that she done a song with them on their tour.

What's the last 'newish band' Glastonbury has done this for again?

I can look at Arcade Fire and Biffy for the last two years at R&L. I don't see the same at Glastonbury - much as we'd like to think otherwise, I think Glastonbury probably has a far higher percentage of 'established' acts than other places.

i was replying to a thread about headliners... in the headliner thread.

But in any event, even on other stages I think Glastonbury has less genuinely new music than places like Bestival or R&L.

Yeah but glasto has to cater to the middle aged who create uproar for anything after the 90s ;) (I am not saying music from before 00s is bad, far from it but you know..but the audience does need to start giving new acts a chance.)

Its one plus point about Mumford's headlining, young and first headline slots this year...
