And before anyone says those bands are all from the shit indie-landfill era of 05-08/9 I apologise but that's where I was looking and yes I realise that period of time was pretty extreme for the "unjustifiable popularity:crap" ratio but I think the point still stands - there are going to be bands in high-slots who really don't merit it

They were banging on this morning about having some massive Biffy news, although not sure how it got into this thread.

Don't know what the news was/will be. Unlikely to be confirmation of them headlining R&L and Radio One do all those, unless they were just announcing that they've heard the rumour.

EDIT: Think it was something to do with a special competition gig, ao not festival news.

The XFM News is big news..if you win :D

Oh Biffy! That would be an exclusive at Reading I am guessing boo! :P

On the whole subs thing, people are forgetting the size of those previous acts at the time while worth a punt during those summers they did sub they was bigish. (While still not the size of some of the suggestions we've had over the weekends). They are not crazy at all for making those choices, it just made sense with the music scene and what people were into at the time!

    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
    • If anyone sees Lakefest this weekend on any sites please post here, I’ve got alerts set. Been on TFG in recent years and not sold out yet.
