Disappointing to read that most of these comments seem to relate to "tribute" bands and not "covers" bands. There is a huge difference!

Im up for the odd coverband sneaking onto the line up where as there is no chance the original can ever be seen  - Bootleg Beatles or a completely different concept like Beetles Dub Club -   But coverbands are the life blood of tony local festivals and they should be left to it.     A coverbands stage at Glastonbury.....  strong nope from me

Unfortunately this stage would be mobbed nowadays. Thousands losing their sh*t to Don't Stop Believing.

 

The days of 100k at the Sugababes, 120k at Avril Lavigne and half the lineup being "DJs" pressing play on fake decks.

Nothing wrong with a couple of acts here and there over 5 days for a bit of fun. Baggy Mondays type thing.

Can agree there are some I think are sh*te too, but each to their own I suppose. A silver lining would be that in a world where Peggy Gou is mega famous, at Glasto you can always slink off to something good with a smaller crowd of like minded peeps

Reckon I’ve seen the bootleg Beatles and Bjorn again at Glastonbury, busy for both of them. A covers stage might actually be popular but can’t see it being made part of the festival. A sprinkling of bands in the acoustic, Avalon etc might be ok.
