I call it "suicide tuesday"

I usually find that having been drinking and taking drugs for 5 days solid i struggle when it then comes to an abrupt halt.

Not only that you go back into society having been away for only a few days but feels like months, as you've heard nothing from the outside world and it seems so much has happened. Then you have to wrap your head around going back to work and then the realisation that you won't get to go back for another year (or in this years case another two!!)

I feel very unhinged after Glasto. It's hard to return to the real world and leave behind bliss. One way of overcoming it is, if you can afford it, to have a holiday arranged for the minute you get back ie wash, change of clothes, get pre-packed suitcase and fly off somewhere. Nice to convalesce in the sun by the pool.

Failing that then at least have until and including the following Wednesday off work (assuming you work). Of course if you have taken on board lots of bits and bobs during the festival then you'll have 'the fear' to deal with no matter what. If this is the case just remember at the time that you will not be alone, and yes it was worth it.

Don't have time to mess about as I arrive home Monday and then off again on the Thursday to work at Hop Farm - its just the way it is as I am working at three music events in June.

its just like London buses

Had the single worst suicidal Tuesday a few years back after seriously (and stupidly) overindulging on the Sunday night. I was a mess. Horrible, horrible day. So my main advice would be, take it easy on Sunday- just maintain a nice level of merry but use the evening as a winding down period almost. Unless you're a party animal in which case use Monday ;)

Oh and having something else to look forward to (in my case- Latitude, four friend's weddings including trips to France & Italy, as well as Octoberfest) certainly helps too.

It is one of conflicting emotions. Suicidal thoughts and moments of utter elation I imagine it must be what it is like being pregnant.

I also have a three day work trip to Portugal to look forward to on the Wednesday

I'm usually on a massive buzz when I get back. In fact Glastonbury inspires me for a good few weeks directly (and a lot longer in a milder way).

Last year I had murderous hangover/come-down/sun-stroke/exhaustion and lay in bed for a week, writhing in agony - with a little grin on my face :D

I got made redundant when I got back from Glastonbury last year.

Possibly not great timing as I immediately thought "right, lots more festivals". Sadly I was sensible for a bit and have now started my own business so more rather than less busy - to some degree wish I'd just decided to take a chill year, got some temporary work and been able to stay on after Glasto for a week, etc.

I can't do the drug indulgence anymore because of work, but still find it utterly weird trying to readjust-it's like I'm moving at a different pace to everything else which has continued at this crazy pace the whole time while I've been on another planet or something.

Mind you, last year I had a week and a bit off after Glastonbury and that was too long. Far too long to sit around and dwell on it being over. I'm back in on Thursday 30th this year and that'll be much better

Every time I come back I am convinced I am going to drop out of society and join a f**king commune or the circus or something..

After a couple of days the feeling usually passes!

Tried taking 5htp last year and that helped a bit...

I get the post-Glasto blues and i find the best way to cure it is to get on a train and go to a city that you've never been to before and have no connections with. Walk into a remote part of the city at night time and commit a murder (when no one's looking, obviously). Hide the body where it won't be found for a while and then get on a train and go back home. The murder will never be traced back to you and you'll feel great...or maybe that's just me. If you're more of a rape kinda person, so be it. Sicko!

    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.

    • I don't think I'm alone as a Scotland fan that there is no way that I could possibly fall asleep knowing we're about to play our first World Cup game in 28 years! Pure adrenaline is keeping me wide awake (and plenty of rum)!
