Post Glasto feeling - I'm usually struck down with a heavy cold for 48 hours!! This year, me and my girlfriend are going home, having a bath, unpacking, washing clothes, re-packing and flying off to an all-inclusive in the sun..... best tonic.

I get the post-Glasto blues and i find the best way to cure it is to get on a train and go to a city that you've never been to before and have no connections with. Walk into a remote part of the city at night time and commit a murder (when no one's looking, obviously). Hide the body where it won't be found for a while and then get on a train and go back home. The murder will never be traced back to you and you'll feel great...or maybe that's just me. If you're more of a rape kinda person, so be it. Sicko!

Try moving to Bristol (then you have St Paul's Carnival the following weekend).

Unfortunately I've now moved to London, but am flying out to Portugal in mid-July for a week and a half to see The Strokes and Arcade Fire - so hopefully that will take the edge off instead.

Last year was my first Glasto. Before I went, people mentioned how down they felt when they got home. Of course I didn't believe them, until I got home. It felt horrible. I was exhausted, but with no music, crowds of people, and things to do all the time, I just felt lost. I hated the quiet, so within 2 hours of being home, I was down the pub, playing Glasot tunes on the jukebox/ Made me feel alot better, but still wasn't quiet the same

Back to work on the wednesday, then off to see arcade fire in hyde park on thursday then the highlight of the year on friday - seeing flaming lips perform the soft bulletin in its entirety on the friday. I am looking forward to that gig more than glastonbury. By a distance.

Oh and then I'm off to the algarve for a week the following wednesday.

I've got a nice hotel booked in Bristol this year so once offsite can relax a bit, lots of sleep, nip down to the pool, jacuzzi and sauna etc with the missus.

I couldn't dream of going back to work till at least Wednesday.

Also look forward to hammering the iplayer and getting the Q review. Will that be out this year?

True post-festival nightmare story, but it relates to All Tomorrows Parties, not Glastonbury:

I did a pill on the Saturday night - didn't agree with me at all: 36 hours of paranoid hell. Not sure what it was, but it was some sort of synthesised crap. Thankfully, ATP is held in a holiday camp and you stay in chalets, so I was able to hide in our front room and watch the telly whilst being looked after by my chalet-mates.

The following Wednesday, I was at work feeling reasonably well recovered, when I had to do an impromptu presentation to a largish group of managers. Formal stuff: everyone sitting in a big office while I stood up and jabbered. Half way through, I was suddenly and completely pole-axed by a repeat effect of the pill, just as strong as it had been at the weekend. I had to excuse myself twice and go out and get some water. I got through it, living off adrenaline and playing the 'hard bastard who wont let a bit of flu keep him away from work' card, but looking back it was one of my worst drugs nightmares come true.

Top Tip: make sure your post-Glasto suicide week plans don't include making any business presenations.

When I came home from the 2009 festival I had the most glorious shower of my life and then slept for hours. I'm only a student and school had finished by this point so I had the entire summer holidays to get over it! I spent the next few days just grasping on to the memories though, don't really know how to explain the impact it had on me.

This year Glasto takes place before my school term ends, so once I get home on the Monday I'll be expected to go in for the rest of the week! Not sure how I'll cope with this haha, hopefully school will keep me busy and take my mind off how I'm not there any more :)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
