Any chance of Cee-Lo playing an early slot on the Pyramid on Friday? Clinging on here as I'd really like to see him but I don't want to miss U2, looking at last year Femi Kuti headlined West Holts on the Friday and played 2nd bottom on the Pyramid on the same day so perhaps it's a possibility? Fingers crossed!

the JazzField is one of my favorite places on site, but it's not always musically up my alley, so when some cracking acts are booked it makes it especially nice to know i'll happily be spending more time there. Jimmy Cliff in an earlier time slot and Dengue Fever look superb on the friday (just don't you dare put BB King on at the same time as JC, please) and as for Sat, Omar Souleyman should be interesting to see and I'll keep my fingers crossed that Janelle Monnae isn't clashing with some 'must see' on before Coldplay (Robert Plant, i fear) or the Chems.

Each to their own, and everyone on here seems excited by it, but Kool & The Gang just don't do it for me at all - "Cherish the Love" and "Joanna" are quite possibly the standard setters for 'telephone hold' or 'elevator' music. Granted, there's far more to them than that, but 1983 was surely a horrible year for them. I'm still looking for something to do/see sunday night.

(i must stop reading/posting until i get a ticket on sunday)

I'd be pretty happy to spend most of my time at West Holts - good music, booze, food and atmosphere.

That said, I do hope Janelle Monae doesn't clash with anyone I want to see. Really looking forward to her set and would probably go regardless, but would prefer it to be clash free.

Jimmy clashing with Fleet Foxes and a 'big surprise guest at the Park' or even Elbow would 'annoy' me no end too!

Looking forward to Mulatu and Dengue Fever though.

I think i am going to be spending a lot of time on you tube looking at the West Holts line up,not heard af at least 50% of them, some good ones there though that i do know, not keen on Cele Lo Green,i know hes got a big following but hes not for me. Love the Kool and the Gang slot, bit puzzled by Duane Eddy though ?

Some great acts and some I've never heard of (as always happens!).

Really fancy Kool & The Gang. The Friday looks pretty solid too, but I can't see why Jimmy Cliff is only 3rd top? Surely he has higher status, especially when you consider that Cee-Lo really only has 1 successful (albeit recent) album.

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
