I think the set list on the arena tour is brilliant, every song on there is a gem. They now have too many quality songs, its a shame they do now play any earlier stuff. The question now is, what will they drop from the set to fit into a Glasto set. The current tour is about two hours long, a Glasto set is 1 hour (1 and a quarter hours tops). I reckin as follows:

The Birds -In

The Bones of You -Out

Lippy Kids -In

Mirrorball -In

With Love -In

Neat Little Rows -Out

The Night Will Always Win -In

Great Expectations -Out

Grounds for Divorce -In

The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver -In

Puncture Repair -Out

Some Riot -Out

Weather To Fly (Partial) -Out

Weather To Fly (Full) -Out

Open Arms -In

Starlings -In

Station Approach -In

One Day Like This -In

They will want to keep most of the new stuff in I would have thought. Only Station Approch from pre SSK I reckcon

Any views?!

Yep I make you right. Very sad to see their older stuff ditched but it was ever thus when a band gets popular from a later album.

Only thing I'd change from your glast set list guess is that I'd swap 2 songs:

Neat Little Rows - In

The Night Will Always Win - Out.

Was listening to the album again this morning. Some more of the songs have grown on my but there are more songs on this album I dont like than on any other of their albums. Maybe I just need more time with it.

I dont like Open Arms at all though. But I wasnt overly keen on One Day Like This either.

they were brilliant at the MEN tonight, great hometown gig. This band at sundown on the Pyramid Stage will be indescribably great. Weather to Fly, Lippy Kids and Neat Little Rows were stunning, and Open Arms is going to be a glasto moment for sure this year. Very excited to be seeing them again in 3 months (to the day i believe)

  • 1 month later...

The only Elbow song I know is Grounds for Divorce (which I rather like). Could anyone give me a few songs or a best of track list to listen to because I want to know what all the fuss is about!? Either that or I'll go & see Mumford & Sons.

Love Elbow, what a bloody beautiful, uplifting & emotive band they are and perfect Glasto sing-along music. Will be loving them on Saturday.

Only thing I'm trying to get my head around Elbow into The Chems (!!) I guess the best way to look at it is they are both euphoric, just in totally different ways! :D

Love Glasto, happy days :)

lets not all lose sight of the fact the latest album is their weakest by some distance and they will play heavily from it at Glastonbury. It is as if the first 3 albums never existed.

A shame
