Not sure if comedians are included on this thread but I'm seeing Jimeoin in Leeds tomorrow night. Also planning to see Stiff Little Fingers in Sheffield on 12th March, I haven't seen them live in over 10 years so looking forward to that.

I've done a bit of comedy this year as well, saw Milton Jones last week, I've got Jimmy Carr in November and in hoping to see Louis CK as well.

... And I'm seeing Deftones next Wednesday :)

Deftones did not disappoint last night. A few surprises with the set list none of which harboured my enjoyment because they have rich back catalogue.

Shocked they didn't play 'Leathers' as it was the first single off the album they are 'touring'.

No 'Back To School' either which is arguably their most well known/popular song.

In an ideal world I would have liked to hear Knife Party, Digital Bath, Beauty School, Beware, You've Seen The Butcher, Kimdracula, Minerva, Hexagram, 976-EVIL and Around The Fur but there just isn't enough time damn it!

Foals in March!

And I have a ticket for Alt-J in May but no way of getting home from it, tempted to sell it, seen most going for £40+ on eBay :P

Don't be a c**t. Sell it at face value if you can't go.

Me 2 woo hoo.

So excited, haven't seen him do his Bad Seeds stuff since '09. Heard the new album?

I can but my friends being really awkward about it now, I'm in desperate need of cash otherwise I would. Still might end up going yet. Not like I bought it with the intention of touting :P

Excuses don't justify it. If you need the money you can get face value + fees back. It doesn't make ripping others off right.

Yeah, I got it yesterday and cant stop playing it. Was on a 12 hour shift last night and pretty much had it on loop all night.

I think its going to be a nick cave night tonight.

Legend.

It's not ripping them off if they're willing to pay for it? If they have the cash to spend £40 odd on an alt-j ticket, they're gonna be pretty well off. Not something I'm gonna feel bad about really. Selfish? Yes, but that's just me

Don't be a tight git and sell at face value. Inflated ticket prices just shut gigs off to genuine music fans and before you know it you've got half of the made on chelsea set at the alt-j gig. Not good for anyone.

How many genuine music fans actually like alt-J? :P

But yeah, there's no excuse or decent reason to sell over face value. It's just being a c**t.

Every time that you miss out on tickets.

Every time that you have to decide between paying a tout £20 over face value, or not going.

Every time, that in some way, you cannot go to a gig, it will be because someone has been a selfish twat and decided to try and make a bit extra for nothing.

There's a reason (most) bands have a set ticket price, rather than auctions to get the most money, and its so that their genuine fans can go and see them. It's only fuckers like Coldplay that jump in bed with Viagogo who would be happy if only rich people got to go to their shows.

I never understood the "it's not ripping off if they are willing to pay for it" arguement as it doesn't change that someone is dictating the price of tixs to be more that what they are worth. I also wouldn't assume just because someone is forced to pay more fot tout tixs it's because they are well off, all it means is they want to go to that gig and couldn't get them.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
