Bon Jovi have admitted they are “toying” with the idea of playing next year's Glastonbury festival.

The group are due to play their own UK dates next summer, and will be in the country when the event in Somerset takes place in June.

In an interview with the Daily Star, singer Jon Bon Jovi offered to perform at the festival.

“I’ve always toyed with the idea of playing there,” he said. “If they don’t have another old-timer like me, I’d love to go out and see it and perhaps do a set, sure.”

The headliners for next year's Glastonbury festival have yet to be confirmed. Tickets have sold out.

Taken from the Gigwise site while browsing tonight.

A band wanting to play but who haven't been asked is not able to "toy" with the idea of playing, they're only able to hope that they get asked.

There's nothing at all that's new in what you posted from when I said they'd like to play but haven't been asked quite a few months back now.

It's a non-story.

But more than anything, the reason I find it hugely unlikely that they'll play is because they're booked for a stadium show in Bristol on the Monday after Glasto - and I'd be amazed if the promoter of that show allowed them to play down the road the day before, meaning that the show in Bristol is likely to bomb.

To be fair, I think that Bon Jovi have more songs known by the general public than many other 'classic' artists that have played and certainly more than 2.

I never thought I would live in a world where I was defending bon jovi.

I'd take em headlining over Beyonce put it that way, However seeing as though we know they wont be headlining i think a lil slot in the afternoon would go down great... Having said that the fact they wont be headlining pretty much rules em out, Like i said before theres no way JBJ would settle for anything but headliner, There a massive act who could sell out any stadium in the world why settle for an afternoon slot at a festival they dont need to play at ??

From the number of adverts around Bristol I've seen for the gig I'd say it'll bomb regardless. £59 to stand on the pitch! £225 for 'Diamond' circle. If you're standing on the pitch behind the Diamond and Gold circles then you'll be miles back on a flat surface = crap view.

If you ever needed proof of the bargain Glasto is, this is it.

I got £30 tickets (down from 100!) for the last date of their O2 residency last year, as two of the girls wanted to go and see them. To be honest, i've never had a bad word to say about them - they're the standard 80's 'rawk' act still touring. To be fair to them, they put on a decent show - it's a well-oiled machine. BUT, the single most cringeworthy part of the evening (apart from the two people in front of me leaving BEFORE Living On A Prayer) was JBJ shouting out "SOMEBODY CALL A DOCTOR" before going right into the riff from Bad Medicine. I did squirm in my seat at that point, or I would have, had I been sitting down.

I would certainly go and see a cheesy Sunday evening Bon Jovi sing-a-long - some people take music all too seriously sometimes.

It goes without saying that the percentage of people who go to Glasto would be higher the closer to the festival you get. I remember having to go to Bristol once, and I was amazed at the number of cars with Glastonbury car park stickers compared to London

But surely the chances of getting through on the Seetickets system to buy tickets would be no better just because you happened to live near the festival, I know there were a lot of very disapointed people this time and I am sure there just as many of these in the Bristol area as any other. The only advantage in the area for getting tickets is the small number that live on the doorstep in Pilton or close by and get the Sunday tickets.

there's an awful lot of people from in and around Bristol who either work at the fest in some manner or who know people that do - with the result that I think it's likely that many more from around there (or more precisely for me, around here) get to go than from other places.

In the days when tickets were easier to get hold of, it was certainly the case that the pubs and clubs in Bristol that were frequented by music lovers were ghost towns if open at all, and that the fest had a higher Bristolian proportion than from other places.

London on the Saturday night, Bristol on the Monday stopping off at Glastonbury in between and Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora playing an acoustic set in the afternoon? I'm not saying it's entirely likely but I don't think it's particularly far fetched either and would benefit both the band and the festival. They're cheesy as hell but they've sold a 100 million albums...
