wolves got fined for fielding a weakened team. what was the official reason?

surely the last five/ten minutes of the man utd game has to come into question? that was just blatant cheating from both sides. if i was a chelsea/relegation fodder team, i'd have been raging at that display. hows it any different?

thats why the world cup fixtures were changed! what did man utd do wrong? it was blackburn not trying to get the ball back.

do man utd really care if they get a 25 grand fine for playing the reserves next week? and both side wasting time yesterday might just shoot blakburn in the foot if wolves beat them and blackpool beat us.

thats an argument that should only be directed of "big club fans" in the premier league era. proper man utd fans know it goes in cycles and so do liverpool fans, man utd will without doubt have a lean period and it might come sooner than expected when fergie steps down. dont forget from 1968 to 1990 we wont 3 fa cups and thats about it, would we have the same "fans" now if we had that record in the last 20 years? slthough it was the same when liverpool were ruling the roost in the 70s and 80s but it wasnt hyped so much by the media.

lets not forget chelea have only been really up there for 7 or 8 years so that could change pretty quickly, as a man utd fan it would be interesting if we did go through a lean spell in the next 5 or 10 years to see what would happen to the armchair fans. sayign this though I remember in out lean spell int he 80s having pretty much the best average attentance in the league.

If scores stay as they are I'd actually fancy West Ham's chances on the last day. Can see Birmingham losing at Spurs, if West Ham won they'd be above them. Then just need Utd to beat Blackpool - whether that will happen is anyone's guess, mind.

we're down (west ham) and tbh we have been for months... even if luck has been going against us we still havent performed well enough consistently enough to stay up, and it has shown due to us relying on a few players for the last few years. can see us saying goodbye to half the first team, but i really hope we keep our youngsters as they could do well for us next season. why oh why did we keep grant as manager too, from all i've heard at half time he doesn't say a word to the team to motivate them and it probably has cost us because every 2nd half we collapse to an extent. got to wish parker & green luck wherever they go, upson can bugger off - only had a few decent games all season. really shows we missed players like Collison & Hitzlsperger throughout, and by not having a goal poacher throughout... probably didnt help not having a creative player either.

West Ham are a very strange club, they let the chuckle brothers take over, who fail to get rid of Avran Grant when they should have done, there are no surprises here, some will say West Ham have got what they deserved, I am sure they are a few people in Sheffield celebrating this relegation tonight.

Deserved to go down in the end, we haven't known what to do with a lead all season and today was no different. I'd like to close my eyes and stick my fingers in my ears until September so I don't have to see Parker go to sp*rs (they'll probably have a couple of our players, the f*cking vultures that they are) and the rest of the (admittedly few) players I'd like to see stick around.

Congrats to Man Utd, very worthy winners of 19 titles. Fergie sure is able to get a bunch of players where most wouldn't make most people's best-in-the-world list playing as a team at a level above their individual skills.

(just in case anyone's having a problem with that [utd fans? Never. :P], what I'm meaning is that their sum is greater than their parts)

Har-de-har! I'll tell you what though, on that ridiculous "Get the Yanks out!" video that was made, with a mixture of fans and 'local celebrities', they actually included a piece from a Norwegian fan. Unbelievable. Whoever put that together had a stinker, doing ourselves no favours whatsoever with regards to that particular bit of banter.

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
