5co77ie
Utter, utter nonsense, I'm afraid - technical ability has no direct relation to inspiration. <snip> Don't be ridic!
NeilVJ
Ok so seen as Noel isn't suitable for the Jazz World where do people think he would play should he play. Personally I'd love to see Headline Acoustic tent although I have a feeling that may cause too big a crowd, maybe headline Other Stage on the Friday
Zacko
John Peel headliner? I suppose he may be too big but if he was up against U2 and a big act on the Other Stage it could work I guess.
toffeeal68
Rolf was the dogs baws this year. The combination of Rolfs Jazz, the sun and Brothers Cider did it for me that lunchtime
plaskins
Noel Gallagher announces first post-Oasis solo gigs Gallagher will play two gigs at the venue, on March 25 and 26. The Who's Roger Daltrey, whose band play their gig for the series on March 30, told NME.COM that the shows would be the guitarist's only live dates of 2010. NeilVJ
Maybe, but then maybe not. It's widely know that he is writing a new album and if he starts gigging again then it might lead to more. Or is that me just clutching at straws
rexclark
I would probably go see him if he played, I've quite enjoyed it when he's played solo acoustic.

plaskins
Is that Noel's only gigs, or Daltrey's? Edited February 1, 2010 by plaskins
plaskins
Teenage Cancer Trust patron, former The Who frontman ROGER DALTREY, said: "It's a blinder. I'm over the moon. It will be Noel's only gigs this year, so those nights will be special."
MrPink
I guess it could apply to either Noel, or The Who. I thought The Who were touring in 2010? But, I can't find any solid evidence for that either..
The Nal
Sunset slot on the Sunday if he plays anything like this, Royal Albert Hall last night. * It's Good To Be Free * Talk Tonight * Fade Away * Cast No Shadow * Half The World Away * Don't Go Away * The Importance of Being Idle * Listen Up * Sad Song * Wonderwall * Rockin' Chair * Slide Away * Digsy's Dinner * Whatever * The Masterplan * Married With Children * Don't Look Back In Anger
eFestivals
Sunset slot on the Sunday if he plays anything like this, Royal Albert Hall last night. Why? How does he fit that stage's musical profile? The stage name is changing. It's musical focus is not. Thank god.

Langdale Wolf
Quality. "Sad Song" in particular is v appropriate. Good little gig it seems.

Wooderson
Yeah, that's an ace setlist. I love that live acoustic album he released (I think it's callled Dreams We Had As Children). I'd love to see him do an acoustic set at Glasto, but fear the w**kers would be out in force if he did.
Langdale Wolf
My sister saw a Liam-free Oasis show in Dublin before. Said it was great. Don't think it was too unlike this b-side heavy setlist to be honest. I've seen them perform "Fade Away" and "Its Good to be Free" before. Great little songs. Pity that Oasis got consumed by knuckledraggers. They have an earnestness to some of the songs that is really quite touching. - - - Although Noel is clearly the musical talent in the band, he has a world-weariness to his voice that never would have carried the band to the heights they reached. His brother's soaring vocals were key to their success. Say what you like bout Liam but the kid could sing. Noel is an average guitar player and singer. In transit
You guys are right about the pondlife, I got offered a fight at Finsbury Park in 2002 when someone trod on me and then took offence. For me one of the things that does mark Oasis out above run of the mill indie bands is the quality of their b-sides. You look at that setlist with 10 songs which never made it onto an album - not many bands could do that. An acoustic set like that from Noel would be great at Glastonbury, hard to see it happening this year though.

fullfathom5
I went to the Albert Hall last night - Noel was brilliant!
Badlands
Seen the setlist and as ace as it is, I'm disappointed that he didn't pull something out the bag. The setlist had hardly changed since I saw him at the Little Noise gig at Islington Chapel from 2006. I love the geezer but he can be so predictable at times, god forbid he plays anything new before it being released or even changing a setlist (the tour last year had practically the same songs from start to finish all the way through). If he played I'd probably give him a miss unless he had new stuff to play. And I wish he'd hurry up and release a proper version of that Stop the Clocks! goonerming
Anyone think he might be too big for the acustic tent or Jazz world. Oasis love them or loathe them always attracted a huge audience. If Noel play the acustic tent I imagine ther would bee too much demand. Prob better on the other stage headlining that in my opinion
