Could Noel Gallagher headline Jazzwork or Acoustic

For me, this would be a dream come true if he played. If he were to play, I'm thinking a sunset slot on Other stage or acoustic tent headline performance would be best suited..

Though I don't know how likely a 2010 performance would be - I'm pretty certain he won't have any solo material officially released in time to be touring an official release. So it would probably be an exclusive show at the time, full of Oasis classics (He did write most of their songs). Noel is a fan of Glastonbury Festival, I gather the Eavis family have always been fans of Oasis.. Love them or hate them, Oasis played the festival on 3 occasions (so they have a strong history with the place, although 2004 did them no favours!). Being the 40th anniversary all I can do is cross my fingers and hope that he's had a phone call from Worthy Farm!

As far as bootlegs go, "The Dreams We Have as Children" recorded at The Royal Albert Hall in 2007 is the one to get!

I always thought jazzworld was just an anything goes sort of stage.

Very definitely not. It has a booking policy.

But sometimes bands are booked by Michael where there's no suitable slot on the stages he's been thinking of when he's booked them, and somewhere has to be found for them. In the past few years, this has resulted in some acts ending up on Jazzworld that wouldn't be there otherwise.

Jazzworld does what it can to resist these acts, but it's Michael's festival and not theirs.

Too soon for Noel in my opinion.

He needs to get his solo stuff out there first. He's probably got a load of stuff ready to go but it needs airing before he plays it live anywhere.

Also believe that Oasis needs to be put to bed now, don't get me wrong I am a huge fan but I wouldn't like to see either brother take the songs on themselves. Maybe in the future but not right now. I know Noel does them well (better than the recordings in some cases), but let it be and move on.

Utter, utter nonsense, I'm afraid - technical ability has no direct relation to inspiration.

Otherwise it would be Joe Satriani and Steve Vai in the history books and not the Sex Pistols, Nirvana, The Strokes, Noel Gallagher and whoever else has touched lives whilst lacking the ability to play augmented minor seveth arpeggios behind their back...

Don't be ridic!

The point I was making, from how it's happened in the past, was that you might see the likes of (using your lists) Joe Satriani and Steve Vai on the Jazzworld stage but far from likely to see the Sex Pistols, Nirvana, The Strokes, or Noel Gallagher.

This is exactly why I'm saying that I can't see Noel playing Jazzworld.

I'm not saying it out of any personal snobbery, he simply doesn't fit for the sorts of acts they have there.
