Joined Efests about 15 mins ago and it’s your first post. Either this is bang on or someone having a laugh. Assuming it’s the first option, Bonobo would be excellent.

Huge TWOD fan so I'd be made up with that (I know it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea) but I don't know how likely it is, they have already played the festival twice. But they are likely to have a new album to promote.

It's a very random thing to make up, mind.

It feels believable but strange they only have half of it certain. Surely the lineup is finalised this close to the first main announcement.

Based on who isn’t on the EOTR lineup and is about in August. Reckon we get at least some of the following:
Amyl, Wilco, Aldous Harding, Last Dinner Party, Westside Cowboy, Band of Horses, unknown mortal orchestra, The Beths and Getdown Services.

Yeah, delighted to see no Band of Horses or Aldous. Fingers crossed. We're still presuming the mystery headliner is Geese I presume?

I reckon so, get them doing an hour before SFA. Similar to the Wet Leg situation. No doubt Cameron Winter will pop up on the site somewhere too… bastards!

I am still, overly optimistically perhaps, thinking Geese will be headlining.  The dates fit from what I can see, and the fact that they are not officially announced still gives me hope.

Are Westside Cowboy likely after a prominent Rising slot last year? Although Big Special came back last year after the same I guess. I saw Westside Cowboy in Dublin Saturday night, they were magnificent.

It’s hit and miss when a band returns within a year of a rising slot. Getdown Services technically did it with their secret set last year. I figured with their dates in early August and a new EP out, they’d be a good fit but they may want to wait a year and come back much bigger in 2027.

SFA aren't headlining. The press release states that it's still the four that were announced last time.

Wednesday, Melody's Echo Chamber, Oklou, Mannequin Pussy, Horsegirl, Nation Of Language, Anoushka Shanar and the Belair Lip Bombs are also all in Europe the previous or following weekend.

Would love Wednesday, wasn’t familiar with them when they played in 2024 and unfortunately missed them. I expect Mannequin Pussy will rock up solely because of their 2024 cancellation.

Hello, often I've read on this thread and past versions that if someone's playing End of the Road, they are ruled out from playing Greenman. I had a quick search for an explanation for this but haven't found one. I have Greenman tix and would love to see lots of folk on the EOTR poster (Super Furries!) Apologies if it's obvious, but why are EOTR and Greenman artists mutually exclusive?

Way I always saw it was that they are essentially the South Wales/West equivalent to each other (as someone who has been to GM 3 times and EOTR 2 times). They’re in competition so perhaps there are contracts involved that prohibit the sharing of major acts between the two (like what Festival Republic does) OR they both realise it’s mutually beneficial to have different lineups (more chance of a person going to both/keeps things fresh and feeling new).

From what people have said on the EOTR thread, it sounds like SFA turned down Green Man’s offer of a headline slot, which is peculiar as their lead singer may as well be a festival regular at Green Man nowadays.

There's no absolute exclusivity, there'll be ten or so shared between the two but none of the bigger names. It's not contractual because as independent festivals neither have the sway to put that into practice in the way Festival Republic can. It's just gentleman's agreement by all accounts to prevent the pair becoming too similar - Simon who runs EOTR says he's good friends with the GM team and they often go to the other festival.

Amyl & the Sniffers announced for Lowlands over GM weekend, which sounds promising until you realise the dates suggest they'd have to go Netherlands - travel day - APE that weekend, and in November they posted there were still "a couple" of European dates to announce when since then they've been added to this and La Route du Rock.

They’re at Parades De Coura as well so most likely ruled out.

Ouch. Was really hoping they would appear having missed the other year because of the recent birth of our daughter.

Little one will have to continue to bear the resentment I guess (Joking, don't think she choose when to be born...but if I find out she did... resentment will be due).
