Green Man 2026

Tbf I might be wrong, Parades is the weekend before this year so there’s technically still the Thursday. All depends which day they’re playing Lowlands. I almost wonder if they’re now too big for Green Man? They really seem to have blown up this last year or so with Cartoon Darkness.

Lowlands is Friday to Sunday, so they're obviously not playing Thursday because there's no point going out there and back. Only possibility is if they do the Friday and then fly over first thing on Saturday, but then if they're headlining they wouldn't get to the site in time to soundcheck.

All moot anyway now as they're playing Pukkelpop on the Saturday.

Reckon we get any crossover with Beautiful Days? Get Wilco to bring out Billy Bragg for California Stars.

Aren’t Wilco and Billy Bragg doing a joint show in the US this year (or have I made that up)?

Yep. He has though posted that BD is his only UK festival show in 2026.

Boardmasters have billed Tash Sultana as an 'English Festival Exclusive' and placed her similar to Wet Leg last year. She's also still in Europe GM weekend.

However, she is playing Wembley at the end of March, so maube she's a little too big. She's also playing Kelvingrove Bandstand in Glasgow Boardmasters weekend so that may account for their very specific claim of exclusivity.

Just snooping and thought we needed some more wild predictions in here.

Well, it's more likely (ie very very vaguely) than the person on the GM Reddit who seems insistent that Scissor Sisters are going to headline.

not necessarily a prediction but I’ve convinced myself Jamiroquai are headlining, no foundation behind that just pure hope!

A more realistic option, any reason why we should be counting out shame from playing GM? I think they’d be a good Thursday night fit on the Far Out, but I will admit I’ve not looked where else they’re on festival-wise

As much chance of The Smiths as Jamiroquai.

So that's a maybe on the Smiths then? 😉

On a serious note, I'm hoping Mike Joyce might be in there somewhere for an interview or whatever. Really enjoyed the book.

Wilco seem very likely but I'm lucky enough to have caught them headline before so I'm not as excited as I would be otherwise. LDP would kill it but I've seen them a bunch these past two years. I'm dying for an act GM haven't booked before but the pool seems pretty small this year.

There's plenty of potential for the Undercard though. Aldous Harding, Horsegirl, Jacon Alon, Getdown and The Divine Comedy are all touring. Oklou would be brilliant for that post-Saturday-headliner-Far-Out slot. Maruja would seemingly be a great fit these days since the hardcore bands went down a storm the past 2 years. Perhaps Everything Everything for a fun Mountain sub?

With those Band of Horses 20th anniversary shows announced, they would go down a storm. Missed them at EOTR 2017 so they’d be a priority for me. Thundercat was excellent at Glasto that year too so fingers crossed he’s back.

Wilco / Last Dinner Party / Overmono feels like quite a likely set of headliners, and fits the pattern of the last couple of years of having one electronic act, one North American act, and at least one act that isn't all blokes. Thundercat and Blood Orange potential subs(?) - although latter might be headliner level now

Think Turnstile are probably (just) too big at the minute?

Ironically last saw them live at Green Man back in 2013 (if my memory is correct). Would be great to have them back.

These are the 3 I'm inclined to predict too. Overmono haven't announced much for August though - have you spotted them on any other festival lineups?

I've been gunning for Blood Orange to headline. He's sold out a 10,000 cap festival at Southwark Park in August without any other acts getting announced so he's either the perfect fit or teetering on slightly too big?
