Open question to the forum - who is particularly good live (i.e. not just on record) of the smaller fonts?

Piss.

Seen them once at the Windmill, once at Left Of The Dial. I'll have them at least 3 more times in May. This is a very good summation of their vibe - https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/piss-band-you-should-see-warning/

Stick on Lou Smith's video from that Windmill set

Never heard of these but after reading that, I fancy going watching them even before I heard their music! Thanks 😉

I still believe we've got a Garden headliner and a couple 'third down on Woods' type acts to go..

Hopefully this is the case as it's where I feel it's slightly lacking compared to other years. Not so much the garden headliners as the 3rd and 4th down the bill on the two big stages. Where I was hoping to see the likes of The Beths, Lael Neale, Nation of Language, Horsegirl etc

Though the more I listen to unknown acts on the undercard, the more excited I'm getting. The hit ratio seems even higher than usual for acts I wasn't familiar with. Marisa Anderson, Snuggle, Ohtis and Silver Gore all jumping out from the playlist among quite a few others.

They quite likely will be more impactful if you went along without having done any streaming first. The vocal delivery of 'Blocking A Scene You Can't Remember' is especially remarkable.

I'd caught approximately 1000 sets last year, give or take a handful. They really stood apart.

Madra Salach - check their cover of Sinead O'Connor's "Black Boys on Mopeds"

Tomo Katsurada you may know from Kikagaku Moyo.  Saw this solo project of his this year at Le Guess Who and it it was lovely.  Will be lovely early on the garden if thats where he gets placed

Really looking forward to catching these two.

Not on the "Its Geese" boat tbh. Lot of people on here with serious credibility issues. As trustworthy as Bernie Madoff.

Turnstile playing Halifax August 26th apparently. Was up on their website and then taken down which could mean......

It could be these lads

Turnstile and in the height of their fame at End of the Road?! I'll have what you've been smoking!

I think what people are overlooking is that Simon is probably happy for everyone in the know to wink-wink style it's Geese.

His main intention is not to surprise us, he's just using a legal loophole to book an exciting up and coming band that has a radius clause.
