The festival will also be giving over curation of a stage to 2026 headliner, Mac DeMarco. A familiar face at the festival – including a memorable festival debut for its tenth anniversary in 2015 [pictured above] – DeMarco has put together a one-off label takeover for his Mac’s Record Label imprint on Friday, 4 September featuring Daryl Johns, Pedro Martins, Tex Crick and Vicky Farewell, "I am incredibly excited to share these humans with you. Also, their music," DeMarco states.

Plenty of great stuff but initial reaction is slightly disappointed overall. There's plenty to see but a lot of what I want to see I've seen before and having gone to Green Man last year there's a lot of overlap as is often the case. Was hoping for some of Wednesday, The Beth's, Horsegirl. No exciting surprises really. And no Cameron Winter...

The flip side is there's plenty in the undercard I'm not familiar with and I always discover great stuff there so I'm sure I'll be pretty excited after a bit of listening this week.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
