Your picks for drinking

Inspired by the £6 thread, where are your general go-tos for food or drink over the festival?

We like to treat ourselves to a few Thursday cocktails @ Toucan in the Glasto Latino tent, and I'm partial to a halloumi cone from Olis.

Hedgerow Drinks and Moo'd Milkshakes are also top notch!

Hello, as there is already a 14 page food thread for 2025, see link below. I have removed food from the title of your post to avoid duplication. 😊

Always go for a Wednesday pint in the Avalon

Yes, same here, and with the added bonus of the bar staff ringing the bell and giving  a cheer if you leave them a tip😉😊

apart from the Avalon my other favourite bar is the Bread and Roses.

Cider bus is probably my most used bar!

I bring in a lot of booze from B&W CV for the day, like 8 cans and some spirits, and buy the odd cold pint. Might check out a few more cocktails this year.

Whilst carrying all that booze all day is heavy work, the bag get slighter as the day goes on. It helps massively reduce cost (still buy a good 5-7 pints on top), and more importantly it is a lot more convenient to reach into your bag for a can when watching a headliner than trapesing to a bar and queuing.

Also worth adding, when drinking luke warm cans of cider/beer all day, a £7 pint of cold cider/beer comes into it's own and actually seems liek value!!

Add rum to your milkshakes! (Works excellently with Kinder Bueno, Oreo or Ferrero Rocher milkshakes!)…White Russians are a staple (with ice cold milk from the farm, always head out with the Kahlua/vodka premixed…last year the coffee van at our campsite provided me with milk and ice… made one for them too of course)…and a jug of Pimm’s from Avalon is marvellous on a warm, sunny afternoon (who said Glasto had gone too middle class 😂)…

Haven't been in the B&R for ages for some reason, went through a period of seeing Land Of The Giants in there every year.  Bouncy dancefloor!

I've always been a bit of a tight arse and brought all of my own alcohol and spent very little at the bars but this year, certainly on Wednesday, I'm planning to do a bit of a bar crawl around site, starting at the crows nest and working my way downhill. Quite looking forward to it and will keep an eye on here for good suggestions.

Sounds great! What rum would you recommend?

I usually pick up a bottle of 7yr Havana Club in the duty free on my way over, but i’ve used Copeland, mount gay, even the gold Bacardi…nothing crazy. Think I bought Diplomatico last year as I liked the look of the bottle! Haven’t tried it with black rum mind you.

Ooh, Diplomatico is nice.

Controversially, I like a spiced rum for mine. Red Leg is nice, good vanilla notes

Might mix it up this year and bring a spiced one as well! Vanilla sounds like it would work perfectly!

I actually think it was your good self that mentioned white russians here a few years back - now a staple at our campsite too! They’re fantastic, thank you!
