  1. tbh, I thought the first part on my post would indicate how I feel about covid, regulations, restrictions, etc. I am anti-lockdown, and would never seriously suggest locking down the gay community (or anyone, any specific group) because of MP. I honestly thought no one would take that seriously, except the perennially offended.
  2. Was looking forward to another Gojira type addition like last year. But yet to see any. Mayer my lack of knowledge is not helping. So if anyone sees any decent metal type bands on the line up, please let me know.
  3. We arrived into B&W about 18.00-19.00 in 2019. No queues, flew straight in. Got a spot barely 2 mins walk from the coach pick up point. From what I could see it was mostly filling up closer to the pick up point first, could be wrong though. I will be aiming for the same again this year, maybe a touch earlier. Hoping it will be the same, but with the extra anticipation and excitement this year, it may be busier than normal on the Tuesday. We had a brought a large plot and where on our own. Loads of space. No idea if those around us had brought the same ticket. Couldn't really tell if there was differently allocated areas for the two type of tickets. My advice would be to arrive at the same time and chat to someone. It is Glasto and they are generally relaxed about these things. Enjoy!
  4. Exactly, no one gives a shit what you do or how many people stay on your plot, just how much space you are taking up.
  5. Where you staying? B&W there seemed to be a bit more space for this. However, CV East they were a bit stingy with space when I stayed there before. All depends on the stewards, be a bit cheeky with them and see what you can get away with. you wont be bothered after the initial set up.
  6. When I arrived into B&W in 2019 on Tuesday around 18.00 there was no queue, drove straight in after ticket check, and was quite near the bus drop of points. CV East in 2017, less said about that the better. It was the year with terrible weather in the run up. We drove halfway there from Bristol (leaving around 17.30, I think) then got stuck in traffic. Stayed on the road moving forward about 100 metres every 20 mins or so. Was horrible for my brother who was driving. We would both fall asleep, then suddenly wake to realize we had to edge forward again. Got on site about 8am Wed. Not a great start to an energy sapping 5 days. We said we would have a nap once all set up, but the excitement took over and we cracked open a can and went on into the festival.
  7. Stayed in both CV East (2016) and B&W (2019). Yeah facilities are basic in CV East. B&W also has portaloos, but proper showers and some proper toilets as well. Food facilities are basic at both (even more so at B&W). But that doesn't really matter as outside of breakfast, why on earth would you be at your CV during any other time you want to eat? (I realize some may have to with kids) I would imagine the food facilities in CV East will be open Tuesday night (not been there at that time before). They will already be there and hooked up, so would be silly not to open. In B&W the food truck was open on the Tuesday. We take a disposable BBQ for the Tuesday night and a few bits to throw on it. Job sorted! Will prob be better than the standard food offered by the burger vans and save a bit of $$$ for the following 5 days. (maybe the food vans in CV East has improved, maybe someone there in 2019 can comment). One piece of advice, take a day bag with all your booze for the day, jumper, waterproof, etc and don't return to your CV until you are ready for bed at the end of the night. Regardless of which CV site you are in and where you managed to park up, for me it is a complete waste of time and can often take longer than you think to get there and back. As for walking times, you might need to add a bit more for the times you mentioned from Other and Pyramid. You might be able to make it in those times in dry conditions with no one around. But generally took us a bit longer. Most importantly, have a great time!!!
  8. So you say yes to your kids to everything they ask for, not to feel like a dickhead? 😉
  9. No problem! It's Gate A, so maybe 10-15 mins when it is clear. Maybe someone else can be more accurate.
  10. Try and plan not to go back to you motor home during the day. Take a bag (a good small rucksack) with you for all you need at the start of the day, even use the lock ups if you don't want to carry it with you all day. Going back to you camp (regardless of which CV field you are in) is a complete faff and a waste of value Glasto time!
  11. Stayed there in 2019. Obviously my memory is hazy at best, but will try to answer. Atmosphere - everyone was nice and friendly, not much else to say really. Didn't spend any time there. Pretty much woke up, sorted myself out, packed a bag, then got on the bus. Stayed at the festival until I was ready to drop, so when I came back I was pretty much straight to bed. Didn't spend time sat around my camp (why on earth would you, even if you were campaign inside the fest?). Bus - around 15 mins journey time and buses came very 10-20 mins. Food trucks - There was at least one, selling the standard burgers and bacon baps. I don't think there was much else. Arrival time - goes without saying, the early you get to Glasto the better. Why would you want to wait until Thursday? We went on Tuesday night and got a nice spot not too far away form the bus stop. Although arrival time is not a guarantee of being closest. However, if you can get there Tues/Wed, why on earth wouldn't you? One friendly bit of advice, when you leave in the morning, take all you might need for the day. If you can't carry it with you all day, use the lock ups. Anything will be better than getting to gate A (which is generally a mission) then jumping on the bus back and forth again. One plus point about B&W is porcelain toilets (as well as portaloos) and decent showers. Had my first ever shower (after 8 festivals) as the queue was pretty short. Any more questions, let me know. Enjoy!
  12. There is a no glass policy, so all drinks must be put in plastic bottles. As waltere says, the ban on single use plastic is for sales inside the festival only. You Can bring in with you what plastic containers you like. Never been on the coach, so can't help on that front. just chance your arm I say...
  13. Cheers for this. my partner also loves momos, so do I tbf. Will defo check this one out, if they are there again.
  14. No probs! But be wary, I am going from memory of an event nearly two years ago, which I spent mostly in an altered state of mind. The buses come every 15-20 minutes and they take about 10-15 mins to get to the main pedestrian gate (PGA). As for running Monday morning, I am not too sure, they defo run past midnight on the Sunday night, but until what time, I don't know, I am afraid. Hope this helps.
  15. Hello everyone, This year I will (hopefully) be bringing my Nepalese GF to Glasto for the first time. So I was wondering if anyone has noticed anything Nepalese at Glasto before? Music, food, anything. I can't wait to take her, it will blow her mind. But it will also be great for her to experience something she is familiar with, as it will all be so new. Thanks in advance.
  16. For a non fan, the set really really dragged with little highlights. btw, it's not nonsense, it's an opinion. That is my opinion 😉
  17. No pics, but stayed in B&W last time, in case you have any questions....

Stayed in the B&W showground last time. From memory the buses were frequent enough (every 15 - 20 mins), maybe less so in the early hours. No one checked our wristbands/tickets getting on the bus either side. There were two pick up points though, one was the main drop off point for people getting a lift by car, so avoid that one on Wed/Thurs. One plus point is, they have some porcelain toilets and decent showers which didn't take hours to queue for. I actually broke my festival shower virginity last time after a particularly heavy night, because there wasn't much of a wait. Whilst the shuttle bus is not ideal, it's not the end of the world, just maybe plan to head in a bit earlier. Aside from the toilet and showers plus points, access is easy, plus there is plenty of space and is well organised.
