The past 2 years have really distorted some of your views about Download. It used to be normal for arenas size bands to sub.

Also laugh reacting is so childish. Honestly grow up.

Not to rehash old arguments but didn't the outgoing head booker of Download just say they'd be headliners when they're next back at the festival?

I'm not sure it makes sense for Download, a festival that historically has had a bit of a problem with a diminishing headliner pool, to 'burn' one as a sub when they could help themselves out and just get them to headline in 27 instead. Also from the other perspective I don't think it makes sense for Deftones to accept that position either.

Good point I'd forgotten that!

Has it really been normal for bands who sell out arena tours to sub? Bands whod play them? Sure. It's happened an awful lot. But there's a difference between the two.

And yeah, a laughing emoji for an entirely reasonable post seems a bit off.

Fair enough - on reflection yeah I agree they probably wouldn't sub now.

I'm hot and a bit stressed today so the laugh react from the other user irked me, so thanks for the agreement. But it's no issue so if that poster is reading this don't worry it's no issue I was just annoyed with other things when I wrote that.

6 dates in the UK & Ireland in February, presume it does! Maybe 2027

To cover all of this. I genuinely took the headlinr comments a bit loosely as much as it's been covered. I think think, to think someone will headline and say they will are different. I also took from this that they wouldn't be headlining in 2026, the peace did not suggest the headline slot was immediate.

But that side, that tour isn't too different from when Bullet played in February and subbed. I'd argue however, that tour tours were to close and definitely for a healiner if so. The difference will be if these sell these out easily and maybe add an 02 date then they become apart of the options for when Download accept a lower attendance or they have bonafide other headliners.

I'm going for:

Parkway Drive/SOAD and LP. I'm still open on the 3rd. If they got SOAD, Maiden and LP it's the best headliner trio for as long as I can remember, better than 2023 for me personally. If they get Maiden and LP in the dame year then it's still up there but I think getting them two would be a case of a less option. If Parkway Drive played and didn't headline they probably accept they are a sub

This tour will sell really well. Headline or nothing band now, Deftones.

If they’re out, I’m going for: Ghost, Blink-182 & Linkin Park.

Any reason why you don’t think Iron Maiden will do it?

I know a lot of people are sick of them headlining (as I am with Maiden) but next year is the 25 year anniversary of Iowa and maybe playing that in full would freshen up a Slipknot headline set as it would attract the hardcore fan base and they could play the hits for the casuals at the end

I'd like to see Download start doing this for seasoned headliners

Parkway Drive have absolutely zero chance of headlining. Can't even sell enough tickets to go beyond the lower tier in Manchester.

I'm just going based off lose information from a friend.

While it may be so, I had a very strong feeling they wouldn't be headlining next year, and that's before the interview, that just added to it. But I do think those 3 are a solid guess. Blink makes a lot of sense after Green Day, Avril Lavigne if she's around again makes perfect sense as a sub.

I'm on that 2027 border too.

I can't see Maiden being about for a bit after the tour is done so I'm more inclined to rule them out of 27 than i am of 26.

Yeah my thinking is they tend to do 2 years on the same themed tour, and this current setlist is perfect for a Download headline set.

Imagine if we get something sh*t like RHCP.

This gave me the idea to try make a universally disliked yet semi-plausible Download...hence this

Tried to put in some dull stuff, controversial stuff, crap live stuff etc
