SOAD could do Wembley Stadium no problem. I think they could even do a couple of dates there. They’re a massive band whose stock has only grown in the almost decade since they last played here.

They could sell out two Wembley od easily sell one out. I might be wrong. LP didn't do it until now, they did arena tours that were much bigger SOAD and festival shows while always being bigger than SOAD by soem distance.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here mate? - You think they could do Wembley or they couldn’t?

Are people assuming Ghost are nailed on for headlining next year?

Got a feeling they will go for Foo Fighters on the Friday...

Green day did it this year, QOTSA the year before. Feels a US rock band are that slot lately.

Foos - Ghost - Linkin Park

Was it not the fact Green Day could only do the Friday Download as they were already committed to playing Italy on the Sunday?

They are an obvious choice but I reckon they will do Gunnersbury Park and a couple of other dates instead. Same kinda route Korn took.

Yeah but Ghost don’t need to do that. They’re already big enough thanks to the arena tour they’ve done.

But why did Deftones, Korn or Limp Bizkit need to? Couldn't they have all just done an arena tour?

It is what you choose to do that you feel benefits you the most and what you want to surely? If every band for example that can sell out stadiums didn't need to ever play festivals then why choose to? Play your outdoor shows, disappear, return with interest and do it again.

Just looked at SOAD's dates that were cancelled because of Covid and they included both Rock AM/IM plus a Berlin Date. Wonder of they will do similar things time with Download,  Nova Rock, Hellfest and Graspop thrown in too. That would be same number of dates that South America tour had.

If SOAD are over hear I'd guarantee they do RAR and RIP which would already make that those headliners that surpass this years trio from my point of view. There won't be any situation where Nova Rock pay extra to keep them form RAR for a year like with LP who it was obvious would be doing a 2 year cycle. The one thing that could make me choose RAR is if they did 4 days with Metallica on double duty the other days...but I don't think that's happening, they don't have the whole weekend free though.

Deftones have a tour announcement incoming. Depending when it is, it could maybe rule them out of DL.

If they sell this tour out with big boy arenas O2 and Co Op Live then 2027 is a no brainer for DL to have them as headliners.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there talk for a long time that it was a six-month radius clause, three months either side of the weekend itself? I'd suggest the size of these shows rules them out nevertheless.

Ghost, MCR and somebody else.

MCR rumoured to be stadium/own shows. Think it’s nailed on to be Ghost, Iron Maiden & Linkin Park tbh. Maybe a long shot of Muse or Blink if Iron Maiden aren’t touring but only time will tell. Can see Muse doing their own shows along with SOAD stadium shows (if anything) and then it’s yet to be seen whether Blink or Maiden will carrying on touring into summer next year.

I don't see Deftones returning as a sub unless the tour doesn't do particularly well.

I agree with the folk saying MCR and SOAD will do their own things. Still see a curveball coming though, but no idea who I'd lose from the three mentioned twice here.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
