I doubt ADTR aren't headlining Slam Dunk like The Offspring did and tsking a lower slot. Finch are also unlikely to be 3rd down second and under a big tixkrt seller like LP currentlyis the only way Triviumare going to sub and then I still have reservations. It's a good lineup for the Download old crowd but it's the easiest lineup I've seen to save money on with on 6 bands appealing at max. Top 3 Friday second stage is the only appeal.

13:20. Puts the Deftones argument to bed; ‘Deftones haven't headlined; next time they come around and are doing festivals in the UK, they’ll be headlining Download. Same for Limp Bizkit’

Also name checks the following as future headliners: Parkway Drive, Spiritbox, Architects, Bad Omens & Ghost.

Interesting, to me that seems to rule Deftones and Bizkit out of headlining next year, maybe both in 2027?

Doesn't put anything to bed really, it's Andy Copping sprouting of as usual. He quotes, 'I think next time they come around they'll be headlining'. I think has no definite answer to it at all, you've embedded that video in with your own words missing out the key detail of what he said. That isn't a in denial point of my part, I think and straight they'll be are completely different. He's done the same for 10-15 years name checking bands while booking the same old one's. And suddenly Lab are now in the bracket of he thinks they will be. He can also say what he wants as he's not part of the team anymore. Also mentions both Metallica sets being amazing, a lot of people were bored with the first night apart from many deeper Metallica fans into deep cuts. I wasn't bored but the second night was better.

The main thing I took from that was there is much less chance they'll be around to headline Download next year as you wouldn't talk in that way about them if they were one of the acts locked in potentially for next year.

So we've got Andy being Andy with next time he thinks and the future, again!, which many on here don't take anything he says without a punch of salt and that includes the official forums too🙄, kinda why him stepping away is the best thing that could happen so less BS. Then we have you with Deftones will headline next year. So which one is it?

Posted on the Download forums too, but playing around with the poster creator and wish we could get a festival like this in the UK. Feels quite on brand for old R+L or something like Shaky Knees in the US.

That Paramore day is gold, take my money

It does feel like sometimes we are missing another big festival in the UK

It's basically Outbreak with the last Paramore arena tour of them and Bloc Party sandwiched onto the top of it 😂

No I've just said the truth, you've purposely decided to quote a podcast involving a bloke wording what he actually said in your own words. To think something will happen and to say it'll happen are two different things and you're the teacher?! Nothing about my reply was insensitive, slow to understand or lacking any intelligence just to cover all basis, it's literally telling it how it is. If you want to pander to his every word that's also been false the last 10 years then you can. The biggest difference is you just worded it to benefit you, I actually said it how it is, try it sometime. We can all think something, doesn't make it real. You're posts recently are a massive contradiction of what the actual truth is  Just be real about it.

My latest guess:

Deftones / Iron Maiden / Linkin Park

Subs: Bad Omens / Judas Priest / Disturbed

Third down: I Prevail / Halestorm / Papa Roach

Ghost doing Gunnersbury

Would they really get 2 3rd downs and a sub from 23 to all play the same positions again?

I can see why Ghost would go with their full production and over 50k tickets for their own shows over 75k max at Downlowd if they got their time cut short. They'll also be the first band to play all 3 mentioned in the same year. The one act nobody would think wouldn't be there.

My current guess is Parkway Drive, Maiden/Blink, LP. I'd put a lot of money if I had it on LP, I think that's been done for a long time.

Halestorm have a new album coming out and are doing their own dates this autumn, so expect them on the bill. Tbf could sub or headline second but if they wanna go big on Maiden day with a sub like Judas Preiest then Halestorm feel like an obvious choice to play before then demographic wise.

Disturbed got their own dates in autumn too so if they tour next year would be festivals and an obvious sub choice for Linkin Park.

I Prevail I just threw in there because Download will no doubt book them if available but they aren't at sub or second stage headliner level yet.

Disturbed under LP would be class. They are a second stage headliner as that would generat put them 3rd down the bill anyway which they've played. At least two of the second stage headliners if not 3 this year would play 3rd down main, none of them would sub.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
