Disturbed under LP would be class. They are a second stage headliner as that would generat put them 3rd down the bill anyway which they've played. At least two of the second stage headliners if not 3 this year would play 3rd down main, none of them would sub.

You moan when people don't watch your crap and then you moan when people do you twit. Everyone else meaning 1 person lmao. And me too, he never at any point said they will headline next time round, he said I THINK!!!, you know that same guy who's been talking BS for years for Download and doesn't even do the bokking anymore. You're starting to talk as much crap as he does! It's just open waffle podcast crap.

GO AWAY. Jesus.

At no point today have I said that it’s been confirmed that Deftones are headlining next year. I said that it should put the argument to bed that Download view them as a headliner because their outgoing boss man has said ‘I think they headline Download’ the next time they play festivals over here. Do you really think that the guy taking over, who has been Copping’s understudy for years, views the band any different? Download Festival clearly view Deftones as a future headliner. He’s not going to sit there and say ‘Hey, guys! Here’s one of our headliners we’ve booked for next year!’.

That’s the only point that was being made.

That survey Download sent out has got me excited hopefully a lot of the bands listed get booked in the next few years (New Found Glory, Hot Mulligan, Paramore, Foo Fighters etc.) obviously it depends on the results of the survey as it's to gauge the tastes of the target audience

Proper eclectic list, isn’t it! King Giz, Kneecap, Speed, Creed.

On the topic of Deftones, I think people my generation and older struggle to understand just how popular they are with the younger generations.

Saw Nu-Castle (nu metal covers band) in the Den on Wednesday this year, and people were belting out My Own Summer louder than basically any other song.

They were always so hit and miss live in the past. Hopefully that's improved now!

I think they would be much more natural headliners than some of the other bands which have been mentioned. I don't feel like Bad Omens, Architects or Parkway Drive are really at that level but that might just be because I don't like mainstream modern metalcore (I do like bands like Employed To Serve though).

Fantastic band. Would love them to get their dues and bag a slot opening the Main Stage one day next year. Such a brilliant live band.

I thought Chino sounded great when I saw them on Tuesday

Based on many reviews, it sound like Maiden who sounded on great form would go down a treat to be back headlining next year. Maiden Saturday and LP Sunday would be ace. I'd take SOAD too but I don't see it happening.

SOAD doing South America so a few European fests next year could be on the cards, though equally they could do stadiums. But Rock AM/IM, Download and Nova Rock, Graspop and Hellfest would be a 'safe' run for them. Maybe Copenhell as well.

I just don't see them bothering to jump on the plane to come over to do it. US gigs are very easy for them to coin it in

Why is it always you causing arguments in festival chats? 😂

You spent a year moaning in the Slam Dunk thread and I come here for the first time and you're having a go at people here?

P.S. David Draiman can get in the f**king bin.

Doesnt really matter to you, that's stuffs been talked about, squashed and loved on.

Who spent a year moaning in the slam dunk thread?, I lived the slam dunk lineup this year and bought my ticket early, no reason to have an issue with it.

Presumably they are flying to the gigs in South America though?

Yes. Would it not be quicker and easier to play there though than here? More connections over there/easier stage setups etc to have put up there than transport over.?

No idea, probably not much different I don't think. Festivals in Europe probably make it easier though as they'd have infrastructure set up and the distance between shows is smaller - you could probably play more venues in a smaller area, and maybe make more money doing so.

Given Bloodstock have announced they will announcd two main stage and all 3 of one their other stage headliners on the Friday of this year's festival, you would think Download would get at least one main stage headliner out by then as well. LP i think will shift weekend tickets, at least arena only because people won't want to risk day tickets selling out quickly. I think they'll outsell all 3 headliners from this year.

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
    • Blink-182 / Avril Lavigne / Good Charlotte / Neck Deep    Lamb of God / Malevolence      System Of A Down / Five Finger Death Punch / Skindred / Godsmack   Motionless In White / Poppy      Deftones / Gojira / Knocked Loose / President    Sabaton / Amon Amarth
