Mad Cool 2025 lineup just dropped

Screenshot_20241219_170141_Instagram.jpg

There are some great names in there...

I think we could get Girl in Red this year. Fidlar would be incredible, i missed out on them in 2016.

Wombats, Bloc Party, Weezer... such a great lineup.

It's not as packed as a usual mad cool lineup, but decent. Only werchter has it going on this year lineup wise for me.

Decent lineup though. Girl in Red would be a great addition for sziget.

Jet? Though they were done 15 years ago.

I think Werchter headliner wise is definitely the strongest, undercard needs a lot more depth still from what it has. Naturally the Thursday being the hardest to sell usually has been padded out though I'd say Iggy Pop is the only name that day that sticks out for me.

I think Mad Cool has just become the victim of everyone.

Got good undercard for my tastes already to be honest. Beth Gibbons, Underworld, Elbow, goose, overmono, fontaines, deftones, girl in red, purple disco machine, .

Especially looking forward to Beth Gibbons, Underworld, girl in red and purple disco machine. Been many years since I've seen Underworld, now Karl Hyde is approaching 70 might be one of the last chances.

Never been able to get into iggy pop.

Hope they get Ari Abdul this year after she dropped out last year. Saw her a couple of weeks later in England and she was very good - I wasn't the target audience but those that were seemed to love it too.

I assume she dropped out of Summer Well last year too and they've invited her back so fingers crossed for Sziget.

Iggy is a bit of a tick off.

I think Underworld and Girl in Red is all from that list and I'd expect Underworld to heavily clash with Green Day anyway. Beth Gibbons definitely not for me. Elbow I've always thought are one of the most boring and dull acts around and live didn't change that. But that's all opinions.

They have Georgian heritage, at least the singer has. And also that release was a shady business. The killer was celebrated as a hero in Azerbaijan.

not Georgian, but Armenian, but that doesnt make difference as its not realistic for them to play there.

Praying for great undercards from Madcool/Werchter!

Girl in Red played main stage in 2023. Do artists on the undercard tend to be booked twice in the space of two years ?

MEUTE were on main stage before Stromae in 2022 and this year in the tent, Apashe was in party arena in 2022 and then in the tent again this year

Be interesting where she would play after subbing for Eilish, she's not really a sub act for me.

Would be amazing in the A38.

Although she is headlining Oya in her home country.

Really hoping on empire of the sun. What position would they get?

I’m guessing headliner but it wouldn’t look right to me in terms of all the headliners

Charli - pop

Chappell - pop

Timberlake - pop

Anyma - EDM

ASAP - not a very strong rap name

Empire of the Sun..?? Dance pop

Also I still don’t get what’s happening with Post Malone. They literally posted a “post box” emoji after Leaks bave pretty much confirmed it as well.

Unless Asap is coheadlining Post?

I really can't envision a festival the size of Sziget having Empire of the Sun as a main stage headliner in 2025. Sub at best imho or, hopefully, A38 headliner. ASAP also only sub-level imho, or a co at best.
