NOS Alive 2025

I don’t get the point of announcing just one name (Franc Moody) after over a month of silence, only to go quiet again for another 10 days (and counting). It’s not just Open'er struggling with communication this year...

Surely there's got to be more "bigger" bands to be announced. If all the bands previously mentioned are not coming, who could it be. Someone yet to announce a 2025 tour or a random unexpected announcement. I am sure last year Arcade Fire was quite a (pleasant) surprise as they were not touring but still managed to headline NOS.

We had 4 acts each night on the Nos stage last year, so if the format stays the same we can expect another name for Fri and Sat. There is normally at least 1 Portuguese act on the main stage, and I can't imagine any 'bigger' names than those already announced. Maybe another 2 or 3 names for the Heiney, but i think the line up is almost complete.

Muse?

You'd have thought they were announced as a headliner in the earlier announcements.

Presumably if they'd been announced as doing this, it would've been accompanied with fewer issues than their plans to go to Istanbul as played out in public this week.

Someone has been announced. I think they are Argentinian, I had not heard of them bit I will give them a listen.

Edited to add: Had a listen and it's definitely not for me. Still, a new addition is a new addition I suppose.

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
