since the sales are terrible im holding off from buy a ticket to NIN (only band im interested), there will be contests to get free tickets in the coming months so i might try my luck there.

there will be tickets available on the day of the show so ill just buy then if i cant come across a free ticket

but this line up is one of the worst editions ever , only thing worse was the year of stone roses as a headliner...god that was an awful edition

For the price I feel like Nine Inch Nails, Kings of Leon, Amyl & The Sniffers & Dead Poet Society is decent.

Kings Of Leon is the weak link in this lineup though. Never walked out of a gig of them thinking that it blew my mind.

I think having a massive hit with "Sex on Fire" did Kings of Leon no favours at all. I have been listening to them a lot since they announced and their last few albums are good.

The reviews of their last tour have been stellar and some blokes at work who went to see them said they were great.

I hated them the last time I say them and this time I am very much hoping to be impressed. Jury still out, but I have moderately high hopes.

Kings of Leon are a great band. Latest album is an absolute banger and Aha Shake Heartbreak and Because of the Times are all timers. I agree with the above that Sex on fire actually killed them because no one cares for all the other bangers live, they should probably just start with it.

Not a bad idea actually. Went to see James at the height of their "Sit Down" fame. They opened (maybe played it second) with a faster/heavier version of it, got it out of the way and then cracked on. Good decision.

Some acts do that from time to time tbf. The Killers will have done quite a number of shows with Mr Brightside as opener or at least in the first 2/3.

Apparently they open with Mr Brightside whenever they play somewhere they haven't before - not sure how true that is however.

So, there will be no Mumford & Sons on 11 July. We may end up with Same Fender + Justice as a co-headline, or a headliner is missing...

Nos Alive had smaller co-headliners in the past, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Fender and Justice is fine by me . I just want to see some more announcements, Pukkelpop dropped a couple of names recently that caught my eye so there's still hope (The Beaches being the main one)

The word on tge streets is that the sales are so poor this year.

If u think fender and justice are able to draw a crowd of at least 25k you are out of your mind...

Thinking about it they did open with that at a few first time played nations in recent years. So I can see that.

As it's been a while now since they've been to Portugal, maybe it'll open for their return there.

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
