Was it last year we got the interesting Ai entry or year before ? Usually a creative one this isn’t it ?Β

Yeah that was the one πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚. Yes usually creative which at least is fun! As long as an AI entry doesn't win 🀣.

Theres a more normal flavour this year tooΒ https://onlineshop.oxfam.org.uk/tony-s-chocolonely-limited-glastonbury-festival-edition-dark-chocolate-bar/product/HN508136?sku=HN508136. I didn't really like the ones last year, so pretty pleased there's one I'll actually personally eat this time!!

Bought some Glastonbury Tony's from the Chorlton (Manchester) Oxfam - the people on the desk seemed bemused (but then confessed they'd bought a bar each too out of curiosity).Β

Pretty sure the woman that opened the bar, won and went viral on instagram was from near here. Maybe Didsbury? Anyone know?

Dark Tony's already sold out online? Picked up some Milk ones anyway.  🀞

Β

A Willy Wonka moment & a glasto moment, at the same time? I think I'd actually have a heart attack. 🫣

Β

Went to Purley Oxfam at lunch and the bars were nowhere to be seen. Went there hoping for some dark chocolate ones but ordered some milk ones online instead.

    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).Β
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).Β  Β  On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.Β  Β  Now on the negatives.Β  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?Β  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.Β  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.Β  Β  And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.Β  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.Β  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous. Β  Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.Β
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
    • Same. Shower and back out in a taxi!
