Tbf I don't think all 3 will go, but they are procrastinating a little on giving them new deals and trying to buy 3 new players of similar quality in the same window in a crowded market will be stupid expensive.

Trent will go, but no problem we’ve already got a great replacement.

 

The other 2 are part of the 3 most important players at the club, the other being Allison

I know he's got all the goals and assists etc, but has Salah been good overall this season? He's been anonymous and irrelevant in 5 of the 6 Liverpool games I've watched this season, but the 2 vs PSG + the final were all recent.

Ive got a couple of Brighton mates who used to joke all the time about how crap Dan Burn is in the air, despite being 6ft 7 - its endlessly amusing to me to see him belting in a wonderful header in a final 😄

I feel like he has dropped a notch or two since Christmas.

 

Tbf I'm willing to give credit to Livramento, Joelinton and Barnes doing a great job in silencing him. One thing that the right flank was destabilised by Trent and Bradley both being injured, but was still a good job to keep his attacking output limited.

It's certainly a part of his game that he's done well to improve if that was a review of his time in Seagulls colours.

Yes, he's been incredible and I'd ask that you don't watch any more of our games between now and the end of the season as you're clearly a jinx!

It seemed a strange signing at the time - he wasnt exactly standing out at Brighton, he was if anything a little one-paced and exploitable in a fairly dynamic defence. The Albion fans liked him, but werent so fussed about him going.  It seemed like a signing just to get a geordie back at the club and win over the fans with the new regime, but he's come on absolutely leaps and bounds there - fair play to him. He does seem like a good egg, and then i read the letter his Dad sent him thats been so visible in the last couple of days - outlining his professional career - and he is a really decent sort

Even though I'm in total agreement with stance on Liverpool football club. 

 

You can't take away from all the goals and assists, which have more than likely earned Liverpool majority of there points. 

 

I can understand Liverpool not paying what he wants, he will be 33 in June. Likewise van dijk who will be 34 in July.

Well to give a comparison, for a lot of Mbappe's time at PSG they played with 10 men for 80 minutes then he had a spectactular 10 minutes and scored and assisted in that 10.

 

In the 6 Liverpool games I've watched this season, he did basically nothing in 4 of them, scored a pen in another, and had a stonking 15 minutes in the other but was largely anonymous for 75 of those.

 

I'm not saying he's not done a lot and performed, but I'm curious of the perspective. A few years ago he was just a constant threat, with barely a quiet minute. In the games I've watched this season, his movement has been slower and less frequent and I'm wondering if that's just chance around which games I've watched.

It's been his best season since his first at Liverpool. One of the best ever to do it.

Yeah, I mean, if I were to extrapolate from what I've watched, it'd have been his worst, but the stats don't match up with that. I was genuinely asking.

 

I don't think anyone's pretending he did anything against PSG or Newcastle.

Bit different, only scholes and giggs were over 31.

 

Also utd won 5 out of the last 7 league titles. Whilst Liverpool haven't won a proper one for 35 years. 😃

I don't necessarily know how smoothly that fits together given Fergie's presence in 2013 was different to Slot in 2024/25, as he's only been here a year.

 

I do get the symmetry of a team taking advantage of a distinctly mediocre chasing pack though.

It's a complete non event! My son, who is a football nut, was completely oblivious to the nations league - he spotted the scores in the bbc app this morning and then really struggled to remember when England competed in it.

Don’t strongly disagree but for balance, I was at a sold out Hampden with something to play for which I prefer paying for instead of a meaningless friendly. Relegation means we miss out on 6 games against more “glamours” teams, much needed experience at a higher level and of course the money that comes with sell outs.

I'd forgotten all about it as well tbf. Not helped that it's only shown on a broadcaster I don't have access to.

 

The games sounded quite remarkable in fairness with lots of high-scoring games and two penalty shootouts. Certainly sounds more exciting than England starting the World Cup qualifying run with two straightforward wins, as expected given the quality disparity in their group.

I also find how it feeds into the main competition strange. My understanding is Wales could now lose every group game and we are pretty much guaranteed a play off.

Almost feels weird to come back to games after Newcastle's 2 1/2 weeks cheering winning the Carabao Cup. Least Tonali's borderline impossible finish to win the Brentford game was a delightful return.

Been off the forum for a while so pretty late posting this but great to see the Newcastle fans enjoying the win. By far the better team on the day, outplayed us massively and thoroughly deserved. Never nice to lose a final but couldn't have wished for it to be against a better fanbase that we did lose. Many more trophies coming your way I'm sure.

Any chance you fancy letting us have Isak please? 😄 

 

As for the league, still nervous and will be until it's mathematically done. 13 more points. PLEASE.
