Bearded Theory 2025

Recommended Posts

Hawkwind just announced some dates with a TBC for the Saturday of Bearded (and with Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire either side, so nicely in the middle). Would be excited to see them.

The Sisters Of Mercy also have two London shows on the Sunday and Monday, maybe a contender for Friday or Saturday. They are definitely up and down live, but last time I saw them the lineup change seemed to have worked wonders, and it was the best time I'd seen them since 1991.

Where did you see the Hawkwind announcement, cam't find one?

Nice to see Springsteen is doing a couple of warm up gigs in Manchester before Bearded...ahem.

On Woodland I would think?

Any sniff of an initial announcement yet?

Waterboys also have a gap in their schedule on the 25th May (but it would be a fourth night on the trot for them, which they don't seem to be doing elsewhere in the tour so maybe, maybe not). Would be happy to see them - thought I'd drifted away but they were really good at BDs 2023

In terms of indie bands definitely playing round Bearded weekend, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Cribs, The Coral and We Are Scientists are all playing a gig in Leeds the following weekend. Would love Cribs and We Are Scientists at Bearded...the rest would probably watch if didn't clash with anybody I was desperate to see.

Wondered briefly if Paul Heaton being active that weekend meant he might play but I'd assume his own stadium gig as near as Sheffield would rule that out.

Yeah, did think that. Might still be a shout as people at Bearded won't be able to do his gig anyway. My mate's lad saw him at Kendal and said he was one of the highlights of the weekend.

I really thought The Cribs would be announced for this year (or rather convinced myself they would be), they did a few gigs in and around Bearded if I remember rightly.  They're one of my favourite bands so would love to see them on the line-up for 2025.  Wouldn't mind The Coral either.

If it is the line up my guess/want would be:

The Smile/Ride/Idles/Mogwai

Shame/Jockstrap/Murder Capital/Leftfield/The Cribs

Fat Dog/Nadine Shah/Sorry/Katy J Pearson

I'm sure they'll be some folk and dance things in there but I've got no clue

Some proper shite on at this place, same weekend as Bearded, but I could see some of them cropping up, particularly those on The Padock Stage.

Sugarhill Gang have done Bearded before, and were due to return in 2020 before that got cancelled - so I'd consider them pretty likely candidates for a midcard slot.

Use every colour!

That's got to be one of the ugliest posters for a festival that I've seen
