And a partridge in a pear tree!!!

Sorry, no idea what you wanted me to add.

An artist getting massive after one album compared to someone who takes longer to achieve a similar result, doesn't mean that one's zeitgeist is more valid than the other.

I have asked every friend I've seen in the past few weeks, out of curiosity to see if i was just out of touch. Let's say 20+ all aged 30-40... not a single person knew about him.

How lucky. They’ve 6 months to find out how good he is.

if you think a festival should just book radio friendly unit shifters then maybe Glastonbury isn’t for you.

They don’t need to have crossover appeal. There’s 100 other stages. Metallica don’t have crossover appeal.

Yeah they do. I f**king hate metal music, they were big in the 90s when I was born, but they're massive so I'd go see them.

I've been thinking about that Cure gig a lot lately.  The gigs they played then revitalised them and returned them to relevance.  I don't think many acts could come back decades after their heyday with an album as well received as their latest record without apparently skipping a beat.

please put some respect on Muse

I can only guess that you are a megafan from your username, but they are well past it.  2016 was a Glastonbury headline slot too far for me.  If my last memory of them at the farm was their 2010 headline slot I think I'd probably look on them with more fondness today than I do.

Yea it’s like the net spend folks in footy.

It’s probably closer to the “our away support is louder / bigger”

”You’re shite though”

”We’d take 2,000 to Ipswich on a Monday night. Who is the real winner?”

”The team that just beat you. Still.”

Seems the three headliners are set, and he's not one of them.  As to why, I dunno.  There was chat that he was in discussions about it, but why it didn't happen I dunno.

Wonder if he'll sub.. presume not but one can hope

I was quite enjoying the third headliner guessing game that had started, shame it ended so abruptly.

On The Cure 2019 - I also think about that set quite a bit. I took it in solo as pretty much everyone I'd gone with was elsewhere; The Streets, if memory serves. I wasn't missing that on the Pyramid though.

It was a wonderful moment, and ended up essentially being the festival closer for 3 years. In terms of the crowd size, it was very comfortable for space 1/3 to 1/2 way back up the field.

Wonderful moment indeed.  I came away with a massive crush on Robert Smith, and a great memory of my last big gig to tide me over through the pandemic.  One of my all time favourite Pyramid headliners and I count myself lucky to have been there.  Everyone I knew who'd seen the Cure live told me they were dull, and on that night they were anything but.

I've definitely got unlucky with this one, I like most of the older, bigger, heritage acts from that time period...but not the two we've got so far!

Same here, and the way he was confirmwd makes it even worse for me. I hope Charli will make up for it on the Other 🙂↕️

Feel like people are massively over-egging Charli XCX's popularity... fairly sure at least 50% of the festival will not be interested.

I am 33, have seen her live at Primavera (she was good!), think Brat is shite and look forward to watching an old codger play a 2-hour set for himself instead 😄

Not able to get my head around booking Neil Young at all. Listening to his top songs on Spotify and genuinley not heard a single one?

I know he headlined in 2009 but would people seriously suggest someone like The Verve who headlined 2008 would still be relevant to play?

There's so many better artists that are obvious that would fit the bill better but even someone who nobody on here would ever say should headline like The Pixies have about the same monthly listens on Spotify and have the added benefit of actually having some songs that I would expect most people to have heard!

I don't think Chappell should headline either. I was saying she was in better shape than Sabrina, even with only one album. I think Charli will do great on Other, but for the Pointo? Nah not for me, with 1975 and O-Rod as others. Think she would have done fine with a McCartney and another big one.

What you have to remember is that 90% of artists who are at the big stages could put on a show at the Pyramid to those who turn up and are psyched. However, they won't necessarily generate the buzz that Glasto wants. Weirdly, Charli would  given the brat chat, but I don’t think we should start handing out headline slots for gimmicks.

Sabrina has 5 albums btw. She has been making music since she was 14. Maybe check her discography.....
