Do they even need help creating rumours on who's playing so it sells tickets? It's already one of the most oversaturated things that people request tickets for.

The festival didn't create this rumour to sell tickets.

As incident says, a newspaper has created it to generate page clicks.

And like a lot of the nonsense printed in the media, people lap it up. Actually, I don't think the "story" has circulated far enough for it to have any impact on this week's sale but it's a fair discussion.

How great would it be if they had managed to persuade her for 2025 though? I don't think I'd be there but it would be seismic for the festival.

Minor update from my end:

Nothing more on Stevie at this point, besides the bit of into I did get.

As for the other name I had for the Saturday - it turns out I was on the end of a well thought out wind up. I won't go into detail, so that can be discarded.

Personally, (based on nothing but guesswork) I'd still back Fred to be the third; but it's nothing more than a guess at this point.

Thanks! 3rd alongside Fender and O-Rod or O-Rod and someone else? I’m losing track (sorry).

When I say third, I'm talking Rodrigo, Stevie + one more, only going off what I've had thus far.

To my knowledge Fender is just based on what's been announced for him so far, unless I've missed some other info?

Nice one.

Rihanna, Olivia, Fender

Nick Cave, Paramore, Charli

Has been heard elsewhere. That's quite grim if so.

Out of interest, can someone fill in the below gaps for me:

What's the Rhianna speculation based on? Seems she's always linked.

Am I right in saying Stevie was in the mix at one point last year but it died off, for a specific reason? (I have illness in my head)

Stevie was apparently booked after Madonna pulled out. He then became ill, then cancelled  - leading to Sza replacing him. All allegedly, mind.

@mufcok out of curiosity, who was the headliner you were lead to be believe was booked before it turned out to be a load of rubbish….?

Haha, not now. May tell the story when the dust has settled. Stitched up like a kipper.

On reflection, I can't believe I bought the evidence

Apparently according to discord, kaiser chiefs are now subbing instead of paramore. And jlo is now Sunday legend because morrissey pulled out and she is doing bst.

K2SO had info about ‘nuclear tier female pop act touring, and another account on here said Rihanna was on tour

    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
    • We'll see. Bristol and Leeds are both massively overdue big public transport investment - 2 of the cities with the worst transport infrastructure per capita in Western Europe. If this works to help support investment projects great and fair play to Burnham.
    • The Bródy Day was his idea because Sziget has always been late when it comes to this kind of concert. They would only organize farewell performances or tribute shows after an artist had passed away. Since Bródy is one of the country's greatest singer-songwriters, they wanted to honor him while he is still alive. (He didn't say it exactly like that, but the man is 80 and has just stopped playing large concerts.) He never understood why anyone would focus exclusively on one generation, especially Gen Z, who have less disposable income, drink less, and are, in his words, "afraid of partying." He explained that in the past, people loved festivals because of the nonstop partying, whereas many younger people today find that experience overwhelming or exhausting. That's one of the reasons why Sziget will introduce more chill zones and sensory-friendly spaces. They also want to attract older generations, who are generally more willing and able to spend money. The Sziget Icons days are aimed at this audience, and in the future they hope to create a more balanced lineup that appeals to people over 35 as well.   It was a long interview. If anything else comes to mind, I'll share it.
