Sziget Festival 2024

European metal festivals in August continue to announce their line-ups. As I said before, absolutely not Sziget's profile now, but since they booked Frank Carter, Coheed and Cambria and Clutch for previous editions then some "more mainstream" heavy acts like Architects, Motionless in White or Flogging Molly (all will be around) can pop up there next year.

Also Rise Against and The Kooks are in Germany on August 16-18th.

Finally got round to filling in my Wishmachine. Disappointed to see that Gang of Youths weren't an option. Their last couple of albums have been superb and their show at Sziget in 2019 seemed to go down well.

Anyway, I went with:

Miley - banger after banger

The Hives - seen them twice this year and their live show is one of the most entertaining I've ever seen

Vampire Weekend - never seen them live but their back catalogue would provide a fantastic, chilled sub setlist

Fred Again.. - it was him, Bicep or Chemical Brothers for a bit of electro and I'd take any of them in a heartbeat

Paramore - just a great, entertaining rock band. I'd be very happy with these, Green Day or Blink 182 for rock headliner

Honestly, Fred Again.. could be a solid headliner/co-headliner alongside some good pop act. In the vein of Lorde-Macklemore or Shawn Mendes-Kygo of previous years.

is this page trustable? looks like a scam page...

It is, they are offering arrangements for concerts since we barrely do host any 🫣

But i'm not sure about Foos info, it could be legit or just a guessing game since these are the typical tours cities around.

Lido Sounds has just dropped it's first wave of bands! Maybe there might be some possibilities here? Thinking about Parov Stelar, Sam Smith and maybe Idles again? I must confess, Idles blew me away. Soap & Skin would also be an addition to Sziget I'd say would be a possibility when it comes to Europe Stage.

It's a June festival, Sziget is in August, so same answer as every year : European acts are still possible, American ones much less..

Ed Sheeran i guess

Why ed sheeran?

He was at Sziget a couple of years ago right?

not that that would rule him out considering multiple artists have been there the for a few times, but i thought ed sheeran was a “big name” back then, would they book him again as big name?

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
